rimfire scope

+1 on Shynloco's comments above. I prefer the fine crosshair reticle as well.

But as he stated, it's a personal preference and truly depends on the individual shooter's own preference. Great suggestion to try both if you're able to and then decide for yourself.

Just received a newly purchased B&L BALVAR 6-24x to try on a pretty accurate Rem 513-T. I'm going to swap out the Tasco World Class 6-24 to see just if there's a significant difference between the two. The B&L is the most expensive scope I've ever bought.
lyman super target spot 25x
unertl 1.5 20x
unertl 2 20x
redfield 3200 24x
That's some list~! My wallet is not that fat nor do I shoot as a serious competitor. I need to find something with a max price of around $500.
You have good but expensive taste~!!

lyman super target spot 25x

Unertl 16X 1/8 dot
Lyman Super Targetspot 15X
Redfield 3200 20x 1/8 Dot

I have never had a tracking problem, though early on I had to remember to pull the scopes back.....

The Scope that a shooter places on their rifle for 100 yards greatly depends on their accuracy expectations. I have several 22LR Target Rifles and shoot at 100 yards weekly, my rifles have Sightron SIII 10-50 x 60 scopes on them. I have high expectations of accuracy on my rifles. Less that 1 MOA at 100 yards and in order to do that my old eyes have to be able to see the target very well. I Shoot with 20-25 other shooters, and they all have higher power scopes on their rifles. Weaver T36's, Sightrons 10-50 x 60's, Nightforce competitive 15-55 x 56. Their too hopes / expectations is for sub 1" moa groups in low wind conditions. (of course the sub 1" MOA groups are subject to the quality of the Ammunitions that the shooter is shooting in the no / low wind conditions.)

I don't see the need for a variable powered scope if all you shoot is from one distance. Once focused there never needs to be any adjustment made. HOWEVER , if you see the possibility of someday using the rifle for hunting, why not buy a variable so you only need one scope which can be used for either~??

in the last couple of months i put an athlon midas tac hd 6-24x50 30mm tube with exposed turret and side focus on a b14r. i have been very pleased with it. ive put 4-500 rounds through it in the backyard just shooting from a picnic table. it looks pretty promising. so much so that i ordered a second one to put on a 1022 which i just did on friday. they have them on sale at midway, possibly closeout for a newer model but they have them marked down to $349 which in my opinion is a steal for the quality of scope.

Holy cow~! Marked down~? My most expensive scope cost just under $500 and it was used. It's a B&L Balvar 6-24 power that looks like it was never mounted. It came with the original box and papers, two different length lens shades, an extra set of target turrets, and a cloth pouch~!! Can't brat B&L in my mind~!

I wanted to try a Low Cost Rim Fire Scope also.
On two Forums Muller Rim Fire 8-32x44 target Dot came up. Theses can be had for $249.99 or $270.99 Free Shipping.
I put one on my 52C it is No Sightron, but looks OK at this point ? No Range time yet.
I only shoot at 50/100 yards.
I have CZ 457 Loaded Chassis, Yard Trigger Lilja Barrel and Top off with a Sightron PLR 8x32x56 Lum Scope.

i have more expensive leupolds on hunting rifles. they are great for what i use them for and i can't imagine spending more because i don't believe for the purpose i would gain anything by spending more. i don't shoot competitively but do enjoy shooting my 22's and want them to be reasonably accurate. At $350 thats really a bit above the price range i wanted to spend for the purpose but now i'm glad i did. i was originally planning to buy something in the 300 or less range. a buddy turned me onto them and between him trying to convince me along with countless youtube videos i gave it a go. i believe the original price depending on where you get it was $600-$689. they have a lifetime warranty and by all accounts get great reviews for their price point. i also, finally sprang for the b14r so i didn't want to completely chinch out on the optics.

i have a mueller apv 4-14 on one of my 1022'. prior to the recent athlon purchases that was my best rimfire scope. that rifle has shot great for me for years. i think that scope ran $140 when i put it on there 12+ years ago and i believe they are still pretty dang close to that price today.

just buy a DNT 7x35x56 scope $599 . I have two and they are very good scopes for the money and they are on 22LR and they perform great . ..See review on Pursuit of Accuracy on youtube

Probably been asked 1000 times, but I dont see much under search. For 100 yard rimfire shooting, what scope are some of you using? I have a 3-9 rimfire bushnell that is ok, but certainly not top of the line.
Sightron 45X45 SIII ED (wonderful glass and great value) or easier on the budget Sightron 36X42 SII.

I agree with your thinking.

I use a 40X power mueller on my rimfire. Have it for a few years, shoot 50yd matches . Not Nf glass but very repeatable adjustments. Shot first perfect in cub history.

Excellent advice~!

I have a 5-25x56 Vortex Strike Eagle on my CZ 457 and an Arken 6-24x56 (I think) on my Savage 17hmr. I’ve used them both and like them very well however the Vortex glass is much better. If your budget is in that $500 range you could look at the Venom as its the same as the SE just without the illumination.

I have a 5-25x Venom on my CZ457. I use it from 50-500 yards. Works great, no issues with the tracking so far over 3 years of shooting.

I put an Athlon Ares ETR 15-60x56 on my Vudoo V22S RBLP 22BR rifle. So far, like it very much - it replaced a Sightron SIII 45x45, and is considerably brighter.
I was able to find a NIB Weaver T24 for one of my CMP Win 52D rifles, and like it a lot.
Also found a nice Leupold BR24 for my V22S prone rifle, and have bought several VXII 6-18x42 scopes on Anschutz, Cooper, Kimber, and a Browning marked 52C repro that I had to re-barrel with a Krieger blank after discovering that it had a totally screwed-up OEM bbl.
