A 1931 Winchester 52 Target that I sporterized, it had been drilled and tapped and the bolt had been butchered also, sold all the good parts that I didnt need to the collectors and target shooters, made the stock, fixed the bolt to clear a scope, cut the barrel to 22", made the scope mount, and put 9 coat rust blue on, Leupold 3x9 vx2. First 15 shots one ragged hole at 50 yards, the intent for the conversion was for a good squirrel rifle.

Ok, here is my first bit of real "gunsmithing"

it is a Rem541X CMP.

Stock redone,
made a trigger guard.
turned down a Green Mountain barrel blank, tenoned, xhambered, cut extractor slots, crowned.
shoots OK. not super but not bad.

This was my first attempt at Sporterizing/modernizing a Ruger 10/22. It's a good shooter without many modifications to the trigger or firing pin. I sporterized a Mosin Nagant a couple of years ago and just finished a MAC 90 (AK 47) into a fine shooting tactical defender. I hope the 10/22 picture comes through.

Howdy guys,

I am an old hand to shooting but new to this forum, I have just had a quick scan through the Gallery and there are some very nice firearms here, however I am not too sure how I am going to fit in as I am a tactical shooting, I do plenty of Target shooting and some Clay pigeon shooting but I would class myself as a tactical shooter, and as a result I have a Spike Tactical 22lr rimfire rifle which is the only black rifle I have seen on this Gallery (although some images are not displaying for me).

I still do plenty of Target shooting with this AR15 but its semi-auto, no wooden stock, no classic look I’m afraid, it’s a modern tactical firearm with lots of customization options, from Barrel/rail system to different stock options, enjoy…

Anschutz 64 S BR w/ Weaver T36. I was hooked from the moment I shot a friend's benchrest .22 . It's addictive.

It's a damned shame that I can't do this every time. Best 5-shot group at 50 yds.
