Rich Young Man at Gun Store

Growing up we didn’t have much. When I look back those were some of happiest days of my life. We were taught if you wanted something bad enough you would figure out a way to get it by working. We learned to work and it’s been a valuable tool all of my life.

I know a guy who has coddled his kids and the results have been half a dozen very dependent kids who still rely on the their parents, some of those kids are in their thirties, married, and living with Mom and Dad which seems to be a fairly acceptable way of life now days.

I remember when I was a senior asking my Grandpa to borrow a 100 bucks, the ensuing two hour lecture from him was a history lesson of growing up in the depression, work ethic, personal pride and gumption. Although I didn’t get the 100 bucks that two hour discussion has helped me throughout my life and I’m grateful for him caring enough to give it to me.

I went in a local store in Tulsa today and in the parking lot was a VERY nice Lamborghini. Anyway I made it in, asked the owner for the scope base screws I was needing and jokingly asked him if that was his car out front. He just smiled. Next to me was a guy in his early 20's and had a stack of "stuff" in front of him. One NIB rifle, a Glock, probably 4 rifle cases, (and even the cheap ones are expensive there), several box's of ammo as well. Enough that it took both of them to carry it out. Guess what he was driving. Yep, the new Lamborghini. They said Daddy buys him a new car every year. Stores at 41st and Memorial for you guys that live in the area and know Tulsa. They aren't noted for being cheap. Must be nice to have that silver spoon.

Tulsa has been invaded by people that are an infection... but people do love their money.

I bet looking back on that 2 hour lecture now it was worth that 100 bucks ten fold!!

Howdy !

Yeh... I know of that gun store. It's one of several hole-in-the-wall stores in the area.

I usually went to Dong's Guns, for the reloading components selection. I'm not sure the reloading components outlet is still open, that is right next to " 2A " on Pine? I also went to Jerry's over on 51st & Mingo.

I did go up to Bill's Outdoor in Claremore, on occasion.

Neither of the 2 gunstores in Collinsville impressed much. One is now out of business.

Class warfare. Who’s allowed to have a Lamborghini? Gun enthusiasts are good but depends on the car and net worth? People here are constantly blabbering about “growing the sport”, whatever that means. Maybe the rich guy was taking a bunch of orphans shooting. Was he belittling all the poor folks in that store? There’s way more that could be pointed out here but I’ll just stop for now.

Agreed. As a whole, we can be an unwelcoming bunch. It's a shame. Not everyone who likes to shoot has the same background, and we ought to be more welcoming to those who aren't like us. Personally, I've never believed that money or the lack thereof made much of a difference in a man's character.

That’s a valid point/thought. I know a lot of people who are well monied but don’t act like it. Doesn’t mean you can’t drive a nice car, it’s the attitude that distinguishes some well monied people from others and people forget that quite a few people with extra resources worked their butt off to get there and there wealth was earned and not handed to them.

Surprised he wasn't picking up his new suppressed Barrett M107 in RAL8000 with matching Schmidt & Bender scope with rail mounted infrared laser designator and N-Vision BNS-LR.???
Maybe spent too much the night before on Hookers and Coke.

You never know these days. There are a lot of kids monetizing their internet presence and making bank. Like in the millions of dollars kind of bank. Some of them are only teenagers. This kid may be one of those. Making bank and checking one item off his list, a lambo. He was probably checking the second item off his list at the gun store, a 6.5 Creedmoor. :)

I was thinking this exact thing.
