" Results" TN Mid Range State Championship

Re: TN Mid Range State Championship

MSSA @ Memphis does indeed know how to host a match. Everything ran smoothly and quickly and remained a casual, friendly atmosphere. Awesome scores come from Memphis matches also. Great job Doug and Russ!

The wife regrets not saving one of your mosquitos. She wants to take it to the taxidermist.

You must have missed the sign. It was partially obstructed.

Re: TN Mid Range State Championship

I had one knock me down when moving from the 500 yard line to the 600 yard line. Gave him a " Judy chop " and moved on.
That rain we got and some nice warm weather right afterward really gave them the perfect hatching scenario. Glad none of them landed on the end of my barrel while shooting.

Results should be done here in a couple of days. If anyone who took pictures of the board while I was tallying up the totals wants to post it that would be cool with me. I got caught up and didn't take a snap shot this time.

So iam newbie what kinda of group would I have to shoot at 600 and say finish mid pack
Yeah uh-huh score shooting IS what we do. There is however a word for people who are fanatical about group size.

Winners.

You'll do fine as Mike says. To answer the question you asked, in Open I've found that a consistent 3/4 inch group at 300 will mean that I can concern myself primarily with conditions, hold/touch etc and I don't have to clutter my mind with thoughts about my load.
Not enough room for a great deal of clutter anyway. LOL

Put up the results of the Championship. They are on the very first post. The one labeled "results"

Some good shooting.

As Russ said, there was some really good shooting this past weekend. The weather was beautiful, the food was good and the people were great! Congratulations to all the winners. I know some of them have been posted before, but here's a complete summary:

Division Non-Resident Winners TN Champion
F-TR Alton Britt (Overall Winner) Wade Fillingame
F-Open John MacKeigney (Overall Winner) Barry Holcomb
MR Prone Philip Crowe (Overall Winner) Russel Theurer
SR Prone Larry Evans Tim Kreier (Overall Winner)

Specialty Award Winners:
High Senior F-Class Gene Graham
High Military/Police F-Class Paul Payne
High Woman Prone Dakota Hayes
High Junior Prone Dylan Nutt
High Senior Prone Bill Hocker
High Military/Police Prone Kirk Freeman

We will be comparing scores to National Records and submitting all paperwork to the NRA by the end of this weekend.

A special thanks to all those who helped put on the tournament. It would not have been smooth without the handful of folks working to get the range ready, new targets built, new comms installed, carriers oiled and tuned, new flags installed, supplies ordered, etc., etc. If you haven't been involved in helping with a match, get involved. A few hours work will help to keep these matches going.

I hope to see you on the firing line in the near future.

Doug
