Mid Range Prone Regional, Memphis TN

Another great match with great friends and shooters. Doug, all the hard work that you do putting on these matches is VERY much appreciated. Most realize that without your hard work, you giving your time, that these matches would not take place, and for that , we are greatfull!

Congrads Chris..that was some "hard holding" you did!

I'm very much looking forward to the 1st annual "Barrel Chunking" for charity! We'll have great prizes with the proceeds going to a wonderful cause...

BTW...Doug, Can you get that grass on the back stops mowed shorter next time...something else about painting?? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D(Had to rub you a little since someone else wasn't on hand too!!)

Jim

Congatulations to all the winners.. Chris, Laura, and Doug two days of holding hard. Alot harder to do it two days in a row than just one good day and go home. Awsome.
KY thanks for posting the pics. Looks like the tree's and grass are starting to turn green already.... Damn I miss home. I live 15 min form the range so I almost liver there just ask the staff at the club house.

Laura Chris and Doug can you give us a run down of the rifle, scope and cartidge/Bullet combos you all shot for the folks here at 6BR?

Again Great Job.
Russ T

PS I think Im going to Donate a weed trimmer to STAY IN THE TARGET shed for the back stop. Bad part is we keep telling the Staff to mow the Line and wack the back stop... It never gets done or done right.

Russ, et al:

I shot .308 with 155gr Sierra's (2156), Varget, BR-2 primers and Lapua LR cases in my Savage Target Action, 30" 13 twist Brux barrel, Masterclass Prone stock Palma rifle with Phoenix Precision rear sight and 30mm Rightsight in front. I did put a Sightron 8-32x56 target dot scope on it for Sunday's matches. It's the first time I've put a scope on that gun as a Palma rifle, and despite looking a little funny, I think it turned out OK! :)

I was shooting a Bat action in a Precision stock with a 30" Bartlein 5R barrel, Nightforce NXS scope, Center Shot bipod, Berger 185BTLR bullets, Varget powder, Lapua small primer pocket brass. My husband Keith built the rifle and does all the reloading so I owe him most of the credit for my success ;)

Laura

FINALLY, the MAN behind the scenes is acknowledged! Hehehehe...

Laura, I know you were surprised by the final results, but you continued consistency, stage after stage, is what made it happen. Congratulations again.

Doug

Well Laura you can thank him for another National Record!!! Looks like you bested Miss Nancy Tompkins by a couple of X's at the 300 yard line. 149-7X is a new woman's record.

Again, I say again there where 8 National Records set and one tied... I have truely lost count of the National Records that have been set at this range and Match. Most set in the F-O Class this year, two in the FTR and non for the sling shooters.

I want to give a unofficial shout out to the following folks as Doug will be submiting the following for National Record's with the NRA.

David Decareaux 150-14X @300yds, F-O in the Open and Civ. besting the old record by one X.
Chris Anderson 150-12X @500ydds F-O Open/ Civ Tieing the existing record.
Aron Alaxander beating the tar out of the Service members F-O Class @ 300,500,600 and aggragate.
Bobby Davis 147-3X tie with Aaron @ the 600 yard line for Military member, shooting F-O Class

Laura as mentioned above.
And Marine Aviator Maj. Joe Sturtevent ( Ret. Circa VietNam) Beating his old FTR 500yard record by two X's in the senior catagory.

That is awsome. There where ALOT of very close scores to ties. Great Job to all.

Doug ( Spread sheet in route)

I really wish you guys would stop talking about this match, because it's a 12 hour drive for me and you guys are convincing me to come over and shoot there! Sounds like a heck of a good time! ;D

Doug,
Thanks again. I always have a blast at the regionals. Russ, I was shooting my BAT action in a mcmillan stock. 30" Krieger with berger 105 hybrids. Looking through a nightforce.

Erik, I know it is a long drive but you can shoot and harass Jim.
