Thank you to all who prayed for us.

Oddly, I have to say that this was the most rewarding, memorable weekend we have had in years.

Dozens of people I knew only by first name from stories Bud told became "real, live people" as I met them at calling hours, the funeral and the interment.

The funeral service was well received, as was the graveside service.

As for me, I was pleasantly surprised when the local VFW sent a guard and they performed a flag ceremony with 21 gun salute, taps and presented the flag to a family member. It was so moving that I almost couldn't speak at the graveside. I was able to obtain a 30-06 blank from the ceremony as a remembrance.

I even learned that Bud was present when McArthur's son fell while ice skating in Japan and broke his arm!

Bud was laid to rest in a cemetery that dates back over 190 years in McLean NY.

I hope that this process began some healing for Bud's family.

I am grateful that I reconnected with them and at every turn was blessed to see each of them.

There simply wasn't a bad part of the whole experience, and I can say that honestly, because I am certain of Bud's place with God.

Thank you all.
