Removing Case Lube Help

Multiple stuck cases when using proper procedure points to a chamber that may be at the upper tolerance limits and a die at the lower limits.

This thread was about powder sticking in the necks due to lube left behind from the neck turning process. No mention of stuck cases??

Just for the halibut- would annealing (after primer removal) get rid of the wax residue?

Where do you guys get 90% to 99% isopropyl alcohol? I've never seen it on the shelves anywhere.

I get it at the grocery store. HEB in Texas.

I neck turned 100 pieces of .220 Russian brass, using Imperial lube inside the necks. I have already primed them and my powder is sticking to the walls of them. Do you have any suggestions for removing the lube ?

Hey, probably not a person on here that hasn't done the same thing, I know I have but the important thing is we learn not to do it again! If they are plinking rounds I really wouldn't worry about it, competition rounds I would probably deprime and tumble and put in new primers then use the primers that you took out for sighters/warmup rounds. Any automotive store, "Heat" is the name and can also be used to make case lube with the nipple lanolin.

Get the ISO-HEET, not the regular HEET. The former is iospropyl alcohol.

No, not exactly. The annealing will burn it and leave a residue on the surface. But it WILL BE a dry surface where powder will not stick to it when you charge the cases.

...been there, tried almost everything mentioned in prior posts. I resize in large batches, usually several hundred cases at a time. Die is setup once and calibrated, all my cases are very uniformly sized. I only use Imperial Sizing Wax and removing it can be a pain.

I take them for a 15 minute spin in my tumbler with SS pins, and as usual a little Dawn detergent, a cap of Lemishine and some hot water. Dried either in the sun or a dehydrator, they still look good and are good to go in short order.

When you figure how long it takes to handle each case, dip a q-tip in alcohol, clean the neck and case, next, next, next. It takes almost till next season.
