I just use hornady one shot lube and make sure to get some in the neck so the case necks dont score the bullet, i ultra sonically clean my cases.
No wonder your scoring your necks and needing lube.

Thanks, Chuck. A word of advice, tho, is to knock off the excess before installing the expander back in the die, especially if you've recently recharged the media!!

yep, i am going to try cleaning them standing up in the tank so it cleans the primer pockets and the bottom 2/3 of the case while leaving the necks with some carbon in them.

Have you thought about an M Die .It eliminates all the problems with initial guidance for the projectile and avoids the shaving especially with Barnes projectiles if you have a tight neck. Really rate it.

When I use the ultrasonic cleaner, I use .40 SW cartridge holder that came with the ammo box. It fits my 6BR great and I can clean standing up and fully submerged, then flip it over and clean neck down. Then do the same for clean water to get rid of the Hornady cleaning solution. This obviously takes two holders.
