Remington 24XBR is mounted

Finally! I've had this scope for a couple months and after a month wait for the correct bases it's mounted on my .22lr 40XB.

Do you know who made that for Remington? I have a Lyman 25X LWBR mounted on my .22-250 Remington 788. Both do what is expected.

Made in house at the Remington custom shop, the bases too. The early ones used Unertl rings.

I did a little digging and found that Mike Walker had the 24 XBR made in the Remington Custom Shop with Japanese lenses. Kind of surprising they would choose that route instead of having a scope manufacturer make them to Remington specs. Probably why they were so expensive at the time.

I've done a lot of digging and reading on these scopes, including calling Jeff Abberegg, he wrote an article on them that appeared in a November 1994 issue of Precision Shooting. Jeff is quite a character.
