Rem action accuracy

im just a sling sling shooter but most of our records where set with remingtons and winchesters. I buy my actions as used deer rifles right after deer season and right before xmas. Sell the stock, barrel, bolt, scope, and bottom medal and usually end up somewhere around $0 for the action. Buy a ptg bolt to my specs and then a buddy trues and blueprints them for free. slap a barrel on and put it in an elesio chassis and away ya go. Look out xring
I was looking at Pennsylvania lite gun agg looks like savage was second and Remington was 4th or 5 th . Yes Remington and savage can shoot . Larry

williamsport range can be really ruin a good group. Not uncommon to see a record holding shooter with a 4 inch gun shoot a 2 ft group

Correct that is what condition does. You and I understand .
More records at shot at some clubs then others not because of better guns or shooters
Its all about conditions Larry

The only Dirty Bird you'll see from me is when I don't wash my hands.
And yes I know Remington's can be made to shoot, Especially the one I had that Greg Tannel worked completely over.

Larry thanks for the kind words about Williamsport! I have about 5 Rem.721's and they all seem to shoot. I've had them for a number of years, but if I remember at the time I got them trued at a reasonable price. Donovan I believe my buddy Eddie and I will be at the Nationals in GA. look me up. I sure hope Tom makes it along with the pooch. There should be a bunch of us from PA. club.

There was a time for Remington actions in BR competition, but with the great availability of great custom actions, there is little need to use the Remington. I have owned several great shooting Remingtons, but their day (like flat head Ford engines) may have passed. I shot next to Mr. Bob Brackney several years ago and he was shooting a Remington to which he had performed his magic. When asked about using a Remington for competiton, he said that he did not recommend it. I have noticed that he now shoots mostly custom actions. Good shooting...James Mock

Tom -
The average temperature of the days of the Nationals is hotter in Bradenton, FL then it is at Swainsboro, GA, so Larry could head up to cool off, besides show all how accurate his rifles are.
He tells about shooting in extreme heat and mirage at Manatee, so he should have a huge advantage over us Northern Midwest guys if it does get hot.
But there average wind speeds and wind gusts are far less then up here in ND, so I'll be hoping for gusty wind, which I'm more use to shooting in.

Will do.... look forward to it !.!.!
Hoping Matt can make it. Haven't seen him since 2005 when he and Regan put on clinic in HV at Pella, IA

Will there be a shoot for fun class with a reduced fee for a non IBS member? I know I should ask this on the thread about the shoot but could not resist. Now back to Rem action accuracy.

the Rem 700's just shoot better than the rest .. All custom actions are just a copy of the REM 700 in one form or the other..Screenshot_14-1.jpg
