By the time you get a 700 action, then blue print it... for another $100-200 you can just have a custom..

A better equivalent would be a Mack bros or similar for $700. It's a big upgrade for just a a few hundred more than a factory R700 action.

Lots of custom receivers out there for under a $1000. You will not get a Remington receiver done properly for $200 labor. You cannot properly do all the operations necessary to make them similar to a custom. Give me the prices to ream the receiver bore, bush the OD of the bolt to fit the reamed hole, bush the firing pin hole and fit the firing pin, true the bolt face and lugs, face the front of the receiver and true the threads, replace the bolt handle and time it and for proper extraction. I like a side bolt release also.
$200 won't buy the toilet paper for a good accuracy smith.

THATS why it cost $4400 FOR A CUSTOM RIFLE , THEY HAVE TO TRUE UP THE ACTION. A half day wages is not cheap.

$4400 will buy parts these days.
