I have found that Imperial works even better than goose grease. Also it has cured that pesky patch of dry skin on my shoulder blade. A light coating on your cast iron cook-ware keeps them non-stick forever. I haven't tried it for "dry-eye" yet, but as soon as I find a test subject, I'll let ya know. jd

Been using lanolin for years. Cheaper and goes a long way.
I've used Hornady One-Shot for years; works far better than other spray lubes I've tried. I used Imperial Die Wax when I had to form 40-65 cases from 45-70 back when I started shooting BPCRS - it was great for that. Tried using it to form 6HAGAR brass out of 30 Rem - no go, had to use Dillon spray case lube. Thank God & Hornady for factory 6HAGAR brass - I worked pretty hard to form 1100pcs of it from R-P 30 Rem & some custom 25 Rem brass, only to have primer pockets too loose to use more than twice.
I've learned that Imperial also works great to break-in a new FL sizer - size a few cases with a liberal amount of Imperial, and from then on, Hornady One-Shot works just fine. I've used Hornady Unique, mostly in very light application while sizing straight-side pistol cases in carbide dies. It takes just about all the effort out of sizing 357 & 44 Mag cases. But for high volume reloading of 223 brass for AR15 service rifle & match rifle hi power ammo, I'll put One Shot up against anything else I've ever tried.

It depends on the specific application and desired results.
I have found Hornady One Shot works very well if I am not over sizing the brass and running them through my progressive doing a thousand loads at a time for PD shooting. Imperial is good stuff but the time it takes to apply to a thousand rounds and the excess build up inside the top of the die and shoulder keeps me away thick lubricant while utilizing a progressive press.
Imperial or likeness is a must for tight base dies and over sizing brass for standard chambers. You can tell by the resistance on the down size stroke of your press how much you are working your brass with that specify die.
Most BR shooters resize their brass .002 or less for optimal performance and chamber fit. Properly annealed and cleaned or polished brass will move easily for sizing neck, shoulder and will require less lubricant for resizing.

What the heck it works for me !!
Never used anything except Lee and have never stuck a case when using it. Came with my original Anniversary Loading kit and used since 1997'. Different results for different situations I guess. Dang !! It's been twenty tears !!
I have been using it for quite awhile, having given up on the grease and spray lubes, which are much too messy.

20k plus cases sized, not a stuck one yet with Imperial...
Re: Cost differences among Imperial, Royal, lanolin/alcohol, RCBS pad and lube, One Shot, bacon grease, bear grease and whatever else.
Does it really make a difference when we are shooting off foulers that have at least $.20 bullets in them or going into a tavern/roadhouse with or without "entertainment" and dropping $20 on the bar and pissing out beer an hour later?
Comparatively speaking in the greater scheme of things, price doesn't much matter. I am not even going to touch on the subject of parking fees for a lot at a professional sports venue.
As far as which is "best"? Whatever floats your boat.

Shooters are weird, and not always logical. Just like with anything else, there are fanboys and tinkerers as well as the pragmatic. That's why these threads always turn out this way. Personally I'm a tinkerer at heart until I've expended enough energy on a problem to fall into the pragmatic camp. It is just the way of people.
Several months ago I managed to get a case stuck in one of my Redding dies, and sent it to Redding to take care of. When they shipped my die back they included a can of Imperial sizing wax. Several thousand cases later I haven't had one problem with stuck cases, I'm sold on Imperial sizing wax.
There are a few, very few, things that cannot be improved on. Imperial Sizing Die Wax is one of them.
Early 70's I was trying to reduce the neck clearance on a 22-250. I lubed a 308 Win case with Imperial and eased it into the RCBS FL sizer die. Worked, on 102 out of 105 commercial cases.
Trimmed them, and cut groups from the high .8"s to .550" range at 100. Half way to a tight neck chamber.
