Redding sizing wax question.

Has anybody here use GB wire pulling lube. It will dry to a white powder that can be easily removed. The best part is, you can buy a quart for less than $10.

I cannot envision using anything except Imperial. I'm not sure I could even try the green stuff. White's been my go to for nearly fifty years.

RULE NUMBER ONE: If it ain't broke, you can't fix it. Just keep on until you break it; and then pay somebody who knows what they're doing to fix it. In this case, just order another tin of white and get back in gear.

ISS

PS: next thing you're going to tell me the Pope will allow Priests to get married... Or the Dims are supporting the 2A...

Im going to try the Royal next. I never thought I'd use the whole tin of imperial, but the day is approaching. I like that it is edible. I wanna die from bacon and whiskey, not chemicals...
I’ve tried royal in both the spray and solid and I prefer one shot for the aerosol and imperial for the solid. The royal solid feels like shoe polish to me and doesn’t go on super thin like imperial does. Just my two cents.

The Royal sounds like the Hornady wax. Really hard compared to Imperial. I find that the Hornady works, but doesn't seem quite as slick as Imperial. Never tried the tub version of Royal (though I have used the spray can - great if you like sticky hands and easy sizing.)

If you live in a hot climate the Royal lube in the tub turns into a very slimy oil. FYI

Previous to switching to the ctk lube I preferred the one shot lube in the silver tin. With the larger cases like my 338 Lapua imp I found it to size with less force and give better bump numbers than imperial. So its worth considering too. I have not tested the ctk on the big cases yet.

Well git after it. Lol
Folks will listen to you on how good it is, me not so much.

The Lee lube has worked good for me for over 40 yrs. I've sized cases as small as my PPC , 222 Rem and as big as my 30/378 Weatherby with no problem. I just apply a small amount and when it dries it just wipes off easily. JME

Am I the only one here using Hornady One Shot? ;)
Used it for years on all my straight walled stuff & a bunch of 223. I now mix my own spray & also use imperial for some things. After prep the bottle necks are tumbled. The straight walled are tumbled after loading.

Now, let's talk about your tumbling method. Do you vibratory or use a Thumbler type where the tub actually rotates?
What is your definition of "prep"?
Many case lubes, maybe most, contain lanolin so I would think a case lube could easily be mixed at home.

My case lube is standard stuff using lanolin. I've used both methods to clean case lube from loaded ammo. The operative word is found in the article you provided, "prolonged." Lee Jurras put me on this. Prep to me is every step before the primer is installed=size, expand, trim, etc depending on the cartridge. The lube isn't slick once it dries so prep steps aren't difficult before cleaning. Most my ammo is plinking ammo so my prep probably isn't your prep.
