The Plano AirGlide really is a nice case for taking your gun to the range. I like them because the bolt can remain in the rifle while in the case. I liked it so well that I bought 4 near the end of when they were available and only needed two.For driving to the range, with a barrel 30" or shorter, try to find a Plano AirGlide. The rifle sits vertically so there is no side pressure on your riflescope. The forward foam cradle works fine with 3"-wide benchrest/F-class forearms. Unfortunately, the Airglide is out of production, but you may find one on eBay or a gun club member sale.

For airline shipping you'll want a sturdy, TSA-approved case. NOTE: You may want to consider separating the barreled action from the stock so you can go with a shorter case. For heavy rifles going as checked baggage, I like the big cases with wheels on one end.

These are Great cases--a pity they quit making them! Prices on used ones keep going up--if you see one and the hinges are intact you better buy it!For driving to the range, with a barrel 30" or shorter, try to find a Plano AirGlide. Harbor Freight has coupons on these pretty often we got some while back $119I really like the harbor freight apache cases, $170 currently. Very solid and inexpensive compared to Pelican. These have a set of wheels. The 9800 model is 50.4" inside. Black, Green, or Tan.
