Priming hand tool

Hi
I have seen a lot of development over the last few years around reloading but one thing that has not changed much is the hand priming tool. After priming 50 100 cases it can get a bit sore on the hands. So is there anything out three that is battery operated that can do the job with a press of a button but still be hand held.??

Andy

No. Hand priming tools kinda suck. They are either junky like all the ones that include a primer tray, or quality & single-feed (and expensive as Hell).

Wish someone would combine quality with a tray for under $80.

Try the rcbs universal hand tool. About $50 does lrg and small primers and no shell holder s do deal with.

Yes I do prefer the hand held device, but for them giving you a better feel that means you can set them better I would not agree with that as I just press till I can then remove the case from the shell holder.
There has to be a better way a auto electrical system can do this and set it better more consistently that you could with feel alone.

21st century has one that looks nice.

I have used a bench tool for 30+ years.

In all of the many wonderful shiny boys toys that are available for our sad hobby I have never heard of or seen anything that would push primers in by battery/automatic operation. Now there is an opportunity for someone to either fall flat on their *** or earn millions of $$$$$ !!!

You're not priming correctly then.
It takes no more than a single finger's force to do the job right.

Hi
If I am not doing it right after 7 years of reloading then it's the equipment not me.
How many people out their can do it with a single finger????

Are you sure it's the equipment?
I use an indicated K&M. It's not a fancy BR feeler approach, just setting the primer to a few thou of 'crush' as shown on the dial.
Very little force needed for this. Doesn't fatigue me to do 100 cases.

If you're applying a bunch of force, somethings wrong, because it isn't needed even for new pockets.

Not me. It takes some squeeze with the new RCBS priming tool and my faithful old Lee tool. No way I can be doing it wrong with brand new brass and brand new primers and a brand new tool.

When I bought a 300WM last year I got ready to prime some cases and realized that I didn't have a shell holder for my Lee hand primer. So I dug out the primer arm for my Rockchucker. That took a surprising amount of force to seat the primers. A testament to the engineering of the hand primers and the reason why they remain unchanged.

If someone can seat primers with a single finger even deep enough for the case to come out of the case holder, they are a better man than I.

Ditto on what Gaboon said. I bought two of them. One set up for SR and the other for LR. I am very pleased with both.

Totally agree with 21st century model. Smooth, absolutely cannot seat to far without really working at it. Pricey, but it is the most effortless thing I ever used. Got rid of 2 RCBS tools for this thing.

I have seated tens of thousands of primers using mostly Lee Auto Primes and a K&M unit using only thumb pressure..... but I do use the proper Sinclair primer pocket uniformer on each case.

+1 on the 21st Century model. After I got it, I pitched all the other had priming tools I had. It is a very nice tool indeed. Nice people to do business with too. :) WD
