Primer prices - having a laugh?

I look at it this way, its not about me what about the generation behind me, are they even gonna be able to afford to shoot.
I know if this was 30-40 years ago I couldn't have making the choice wether to put food on the table for my kids or go shoot.
I guess instead of taking my grandson and some family members shooting spring sage rats I better take them sewing instead.

FWIW, i've found primers at my local Sportsmans Warehouse in the past 2 months, and they were $5-$6 per 100, with 200 limit, which would work out to about $60/1000. So I would say there is definitely gouging going on. I also found bricks of 1000 at bass pro for ~$100, which was better than paying hazmat and shipping fees.

Also I see a lot of 'unique' primers from south america, some fiocchi, ginex, and others from outside the states, selling for the same bloated prices, and you know those are being gouged hard. It's some bullshit but i guess that is just how it is in a primer drought. I did hear a rumor that sig was going to look to get into making primers but who knows.

With component costs to load a 338LM round today being what they are($1.00 for a Berger 300 gr. OTM,$.70 FOR 90+ grains of powder[at $50.00 per pound, give or take],$3.00 for a piece of Lapua brass[divided by how many times it can be reloaded before the primer pocket's loose],etc.),I just can't get upset over a $.10-$.12 primer that used to be $.04 since all of those other pricier components are useless without it.So now it costs me a $1.82 at today's prices(not counting the brass)to load a round that was a $1.74 2 years ago,not much of a deal breaker(when loading larger bore rounds anyway). While I'm at it,factor in the cost per round of barrel life,$6.00 per gal. cost of gas getting to and from a range,etc.,etc.,etc.

I found CCI small rifle primers for 6.99 a hundred and Federal large pistol primers for 7.99 a hundred, with no limit, at Academy on Friday. I bought a thousand of each. I really wanted to buy all they had (several thousand), but didn't want to be "that" guy.

That's probably a little more than half the price you pay on line when you include shipping and hazmat fees.

What's the alternative? Its like gas and and food. You gonna stop eating, driving and shooting?!!
Does shooting fill up your belly, get you to work.
If I have to decide to buy groceries or gas to get to work instead of shooting easy decision, Luckily I dont have to because my kids are grown and gone but I bet you a 100.00 bill there is some thats gonna have to decide.

You could suck it up, or realize if you keep voting democrap. You will ride a horse to work, and have wood fire for heat.
No’ you’ll ride the mass transit to liberal town where the clean air is warm and fuzzy

Remember no whining just suck it up!
Like I said earlier I dont have to worry about it. Ive bought very little and what I have is from my local LGS who isn't gouging the shit out of people.
#1. I learned from the last 2 times this B.S. happened.
I see posts all the time about trying to get the younger generation into shooting but I guess if you 20-40 years old and trying to raise a family or have grand kids on a fixed income your suppose to just suck it up and to Hell with putting food on the table or gas in your vehicle to go to work.
