Good to know my foot. Total BS with the acetone recommendation. I let a CCI 200 soak 8 hrs. in a shot glass of pure acetone. The liquid took on a yellow color from the paper wafer between the compound and anvil. After letting it air dry for 30 minutes it took a mere six seconds to detonate the same as in the video. These things die like zombies!![]()

OIF/OEF,
If you put a little thought into it, Dusty's idea might actually not be so bad................
Not any more. Obama our ruthless warrior declared war on fossil fuels over here ever since he decreed climate change is our biggest threat. :JohnKielly said:This is absurd. Surely somebody your way has a cast iron pot bellied stove. Light up & get a good be of coals, toss 'er in, shut the door & run.

Then dispose of the contents in the trash about twice a year, never thought that they may not be safe to get rid of after all that time in the water??????
I put 6 different small rifle primers in a jar of water on Tuesday. I'm going to load 6 cases using these primers and fire them in my basement. I'll let you know what happens.bench said:Well I hope that the way I get rid of them is ok,I have a empty plastic powder jug filled half full of water and put any live primer or loose kernels of powder in it.

Right now messing with the damn internet but packing my truck camper getting ready to head to the Dynamite Shoot in Gateway, Co. later today. I have been hand loading steady since age 12, taught by my Dad and Uncle. So, not a newbie by a half century.
My post is the truth, primer went bang. I may experiment with other ways of decommissioning a live primer next week. Afterall, I got too much time.
This thread has been really fun. Thanks John O. for starting it. 8)
