Price of fuel drives the nails in the coffin

The State of California paid $5.499 per gallon as I filled my issued vehicle. I manage to find fuel $1.00 less expensive for my personal vehicles.

Joe said he could beat Obama's price per barrel, if we set new oil price records for a long period. It may not be just a depression economy, could be country falling. A fall election may not matter, probably what the marxists in the administration are betting on.

I have a match to go to EVERY Sat & most Sundays for the next 8 months.
My limits are at 4 hr drive one way.

Now it seems that I'll have to go back to covid times of staying home watching the world through the windows.

On the lighter side at least the buildings around me aren't being blown up.

I went on a trip to that side of the world last Oct. I made some friends over there. They told me they are experiencing the bombs and smoke. I couldn't imagine that life.

Heck I've never seen lack groceries in the US like we've seen this year. Kinda upsetting all this stuff happening in my golden years.
I feel you

so two things
price at the pump is set by local market vs brand rank. and some state laws will not let you sell cheaper than the "market" little to do with what is paid for the fuel.
i drove 1200 miles one way to buy powder...because it was available at a reasonable price, and the trip broke the boredom of the last 3 months.

Ohio gas prices! Natural gas prices are crazy to. We have royalty checks from Utica & Marcellus gas wells from WV. Five years ago gas was $4.59 per mcf. And slowly dropped to $.98 in Dec 2020. Then it spiked to $5.13 last month and fell to $3.49 this month.

As far as places to shoot, I am fortunate my home range is only a 25 minute drive and have another range an hour drive. Getting components is the big issue and the cost. But I can get enough for now. We are blessed we live in a free country and should help and pray for those who don’t. Never take this life for granted.

Based on my average mileage, and a figure of 4.00 a gallon, I’m seeing operating costs of .22-.24 cents a mile. That’s not terrible. Not good, but not terrible. For a 2500 with a 454 cu in engine.

Today avg price was 3.79 nearly everywhere. A few at 3.99. Needless to say when I saw 3.68 I topped off.

When I was a kid in the 60s, I remember gas wars in Oklahoma. The cheapest I ever saw regular gas was .11 a gallon.

Several years ago, you couldn’t have convinced me that gas would ever go back to 2.00, much less 1.00. And yet it hit the upper .90s a couple of times.

It’ll come back down. I’m pretty certain this time we won’t see 2.00 or below though. Hopefully I’ll be proven wrong.

I got gas yesterday morning for $3.659 and about 5 hours later the same station was $3.899, 24 cents higher for the same gas.
Sure is a far cry from when I first started driving 54 years ago and gas was 17 cents/gal..

A new Speed Check gas station just opened 2 miles
from me. Opening price to bait the customers $3.75_9
The pumps are Shell, Shell never did well in our area.
They were always higher then anyone else. Anyone
heard of Speed Check fueling stations ??

The extra money that Shell collects goes to support the pomp and circumstance of all the European royal families. Just something I read.

Looks like a company called "Singh properties" owns it.
Stations are located in Western Ohio as I read it, and the
owner is expanding into North Western Pa. So my guess
would be they would sell gas as cheap as possible to
build customers. Hopefully !!

Maybe those prices could last until I run completely out of H4895.

I’m going come shoot with you guys Jeff, but Fuj is right. I’m chasing points. It’s not for everybody and maybe I’m crazy for trying, but it keeps me motivated to improve my game. No sense doing this if I didn’t set goals for myself.
Jimmy. The whole idea is to go to each match and try to beat everyone else. As far as points go it's a joke especially the game that I play. Being SSOY is a freakin joke if you don't believe me ask the winner last year Jim Cline. Ask the 2nd place finisher, me. It's a joke. John Cascarino that came in 4th who is around 82 could beat me any day of the week like a red headed stepchild. Years ago there was no such thing as SOY. It was a PA thing it might of started in Maineville as a club only thing. All it ended up doing is to cause friction and people adding multiple shoots to up their chances of winning it. Just look at the 2020 top 25 shooters. Not one person from the northern region. You can't compete against a region if all they shoot is 2 and 3 yardage matches everytime when your shooting one yardage matches 50% of the time in a different region. Last year 5 of the top 20 were from the north and that only happened because of an incident down south that left some people choosing sides. I've heard people say I don't care about points, BUT you ask them in two weeks why didn't you go to last weeks match, they will tell u there was not enough points to accumulate. I mean come on. All your doing is hurting the sport by not participating and supporting ALL the ranges and the organization whoever it may be because you want to pick and choose the shoots because of points. Your there because u like shooting not to earn points. If people want to earn F'IN points use your God damn credit card. Do away with the points crap. A lot of old timers said the same thing to me that this points thing has really hurt this game.

so i was on the road, just south of houston for my end point.
2.99 a gallon...lots of places at 3.10 to 3.15

I got some primers from Kevin yesterday and he said you came in. Friday to Saturday gas prices jumped from 40-50 cents. I haven't checked the Saturday-Sunday jump but I feel confident it is up at least another 50 plus cents
