I shot my best 300 yard groups july 4th 2023 with 105s and 15.5 shot a string of 16 shots straight , 4 groups where they all grouped in a way I couldn't believe. Ragged hole groups now. If I where to go back to shooting mid range type shooting, 15.5 would be my first choice. It did some stuff no other powder Iv ever used produced. Some serious low ES, SD. NumbersI do have some TS 15.5 that I will try.
Thanks
Thanks, I will be trying 4064 as 4895 is unobtainable.IMR-4064 @ 30.0 gr.

I shot a pressure ladder a while back with 4064, I wasn’t super impressed but I also only shot one round per increment. Thanks, I will be trying 4064 as 4895 is unobtainable.
Try something in the 29.5 - 30.2 gr. range with a 105 class bullet. My best results came from 30.1 gr., I went with 30.0 to keep it simple.I shot a pressure ladder a while back with 4064, I wasn’t super impressed but I also only shot one round per increment.
Here’s the bottom side of that ladder, so for me it’s either real low or real high.Try something in the 29.5 - 30.2 gr. range with a 105 class bullet. My best results came from 30.1 gr., I went with 30.0 to keep it simple.
Varget!I am new to BR shooting and as my rifle is being built Im looking at different powder possibilities to push my Bart's Hammer 105 grn bullets out to 600 yards. Rifle is a 6MM BR Norma with 1:8 twist and a 28 inch barrel.
I live in northern Minnesota and would be competing most likely in the upper midwest. Gives a little info on temp requirements. I am also trying to obtain about 2900 fps.
Also new to the forum. Hope I posted this in the right place.
Thanks, Brew2
I'm shooting my 6BR using 30.2 grains of Varget behind Berger 105 grain hybrids through a 30" 7 twist barrel getting an average 2982 fps, with a sdev of 6.6. Varget has gotten a bit spendy, so I have a jug of N140 in the wings. This load has been working great for me at 600 yards. Good luck. Does anyone have a good lower node to try with Varget, if they were trying to get a little more case life?
I appreciate that information.More case life in 6br??? I've been shooting 6BR for a LONG time and I have some brass with 30+ firings on it...
30-30.2gr Varget
29.3-29.4gr H4895

I appreciate that information.
I’m still scratching my head on why Sierra’s load data is so low on the charges for the 6BR.
Thanks guys:
Having real trouble finding 4895 which is why Im looking around for new options.
28.8 grains of Varget and a 105 is a good lower charge to try out.Does anyone have a good lower node to try with Varget, if they were trying to get a little more case life?
Jeff,First things first. Ater you get a good load, key word after, check the velocity because many will be more interested in this than the results on target. Don't drop to that level.
Good deal!28.8 grains of Varget and a 105 is a good lower charge to try out.
