Pierce Ti Featherweight

Your best bet is to call the shop and talk to Jim. I make parts and I don’t handle the business stuff. He’s the guy to talk to for that. Below is the shop’s number. Thank you!

Is John still around the shop? I haven’t seen him at a match for several years.

I wanted to post a couple pictures of our Ti Featherweight actions without any rails or rings. The first picture is our long action Featherweight. This is the same action in my initial post minus the Talley rings. As you can see it weighs just 17.4oz for the complete action and lug. The second picture is of our short action Ti Featherweight. It’s a mere 15.9oz complete minus rings and/or base. I hope you all enjoy! If you have any questions let me know! Just out of curiosity, have you received much interest or considered a Model 7 / XP length? I've off and on got an itch to build a small, light critter gun in something like a 22BR but haven't taken the plunge. Based on what I see here, it might only shed another ounce or two which seems like it might not be a great tradeoff.

The 220 Beggs is a better cartridge unless using heavy bullets

That's probably true, and I have frequently pondered trying a 22 Waldog, but I already have a 22BR fast twist bench gun and all the fixin's for it. My thoughts on this critter-gitter, when I have them, are that I can use the same reamer and my retired brass from my BR rifle in it. Of course that would also be how I mentally justify building a Waldog - The 22BR stuff isn't going to waste, I'll have a rifle for it, so now I can rebarrel the BR gun to a Waldog. ;)

Talley offers a lightweight ring base combo from aluminum. I use them on my Pierce TI.
Yes we use those. In my original post I show the Ti Featherweight long action complete with a set of Talley rings. The Talley’s are great and only add about 2 oz to the weight of the action. Sub 20 oz for a long action with a set of rings is perfect for a light weight long range hunting rifle.

From what I know, we don’t get many people asking for that size of action. I definitely think it would be really neat, but the demand just isn’t there for us. The weight of a Remington Model 7 action with lug is about 28oz. Our Ti short action with steel bolt is 18.5 oz and our Ti Featherweight featuring both a Ti action and Ti bolt is 15.9oz. Our Ti Featherweight short action is roughly half the weight of a Remington Model 7. So there’s a significant weight savings with the Pierce Ti Featherweight over a Model 7.

What's a bolt knob weigh that you guys use ?
