Pierce Ti Featherweight

There’s been a lot of people looking into lighter actions and rifles lately. I just wanted to share with you guys the Pierce Ti Featherweight. This action is a Ti body and a Ti bolt. Both are DLC coated and this action has an anti-bind rail for added smoothness and ease of functioning. This really is one of the lightest actions on the market. Below is a picture of a long action version with all the parts ready to assemble including the recoil lug and a set of Talley rings. That’s 19.2 oz ready to go! If you’re looking into building an ultra light rifle I would seriously check one of these out! We make these with the highest level of detail, pride, and machining tolerances. They’re just sweet actions!A1B8E7D2-BEE5-4A0C-9C2F-CAFA9DD7E8DE.jpeg

What’s it chambered in? I know we did a sub 5lb rifle awhile ago.

6mm creedmoor and 6.5 creedmoor barrels for it, and it's a fraction of an ounce lighter with the 6.5 on it. Won't be switching back however now that I've shot the 6 version. Neither is too much recoil to handle, but the 6 just kills the 6.5 at distance for groups. Shooting 115 vld with rl16, cci 450 about 5-8 in the lands for mine. Some 3 shot groups while feeling it out early on while at Deep Creek. 1,000 yards on a Friday around noon!

Full ti, Lilja 7" twist, manners 17 ounce stock. It's exactly 1 pound heavier with my 4-12 mark ar (p.o.s.) on it in Talley rings lol.

This was before the barrel stopped speeding up, somewhere between 50 and 100 round count. I'll work on it more this year now that she's settled in. I soot it off a bipod, and rear soft bag and a pretty loose/no hold...Basically I just catch it. The 6.5 version once in a while will put 3 tight, but all to often will have a spitter and 2 tight. I think there's a recoil to weight ratio rule that we tend to want to fudge to much.....or it's just a damn good barrel @Hoodoo made, either way it's staying on there!

Man that’s a sweet rifle and I’m very impressed by how well that rifle shoots! I have to say, that is some serious shooting with any hunting rifle let alone one that’s sub 5lbs! That would be an awesome little rifle for antelope up through mule deer running those 115s! Thanks for sharing.

My Pierce 280AI is a wonderful rifle, but the recoil on the bench is rough for an almost 79yr old. I have a Pierce custom that I built several years ago in 6.5X47L that just shoots lights out.

What kind of lead time for a long action Mag bolt face?

Would it be possible to see a picture of the roller-bearing cocking piece? I've heard that really helped the feel of them. Also, is the bolt handle titanium as well? Welded on? Thank you.

Yeah I’ll get a picture and post it here. We don’t have any of the Ti bolt’s completed right now, but we’re getting some finished up by next week so I’ll post the picture then. To answer your question, yes it’s a Ti handle and it’s Tig welded on.
