I was looking for a good scope to put on my new edgun pcp air gun, and noticed that optics planet had the sightron STAC 4-20 x 50 scopes marked way down to $379 with free shipping. Couldn't resist so I had to grab one up before they sold out. Bought it yesterday morning and recieved a confirmation number and still have not recieved a shipping notice letting me know it's shipped. Anyone else have any experience with this outfit?

I've been dealing with Optics Planet for some 12+ yrs and have had great success and good pricing on 6 scopes/spotting scopes ($500+ range). They also are the company that offer (through Vortex and other scope companies) a military/LE discount on some higher priced scopes which I otherwise could not have afforded to buy. Excellent Customer Service and I would go back to them in a heartbeat if I needed another scope.

Optics planet screwed me 2 times so I will never buy from them again. First time they listed a scope in stock, then after not receiving shipping notification, found they didn't actually have the scope. But they still charged me and put me on backorder for the scope without notice. I cancelled the order.
Second time I was getting a Lyman bore cam when they were really scarce. Said they had them in stock. Called to make sure. They 'said' they called the warehouse and there was 2 left. So I ordered it. Same thing happened. Got charged for the bore cam, but never got a shipping notice. Called after a few days and a different rep said that I was on backorder. Expected to have more in stock in 3 months. Cancelled again. To hell with those lying pieces of ****! I'm done with them

Will probably use them next time then. Shipping says delivery in 7 days. I don't expect value shipping to be here in 2 days, but 7 days is crazy.
I like them. I ordered a Vortex Venom red dot sight and when it arrived, it would not turn on. I immediately thought I hate to go through the return process. However, I found out that they have a 30 day no questions asked return policy, and after filling out their on line return form, I immediately had an email with a free return shipping label. I usually buy their sale.
As far as back orders go, I just had Leupold's factory outlet sell me an out of stock item and then "offer" me a similar model that was $60 more. I cancelled that order.

I've bought from them before without issue. But, you have to be sure to ask if the item is actually in stock. They will gladly sell you somthing they don't have. When ordering on line they don't say the item is out of stock so I order by phone, then I can ask. I think that's why they offer the super slow free shipping, it buys them time to actually get what you ordered. They are a misleading company, I usually shop elsewhere unless it's a super deal and they actually have the item on the shelf.

I have had excellent luck with them for several years. The only glitch I had was ordering a scope that turned out to no longer be in stock. I received a call and an offer to upgrade to an equivalent, but slightly more expensive, scope for the same price...and expedited free shipping. Great people to deal with.

Sorry to hear that. Not trying to change you opinion, but I always use PayPal when I buy from them. If something isn't in stock, they don't charge PayPal until they ship.
Optics Planet is my favorite place to shop. Why?
- they will price match any better price you find
- if you order something and then you see it at a better price, give them a call and they will reduce the price on your order
- inventory and if you just wait a couple of days, there will be at least a 10% discount, and they even have 12% and more discounts

There's no doubt their prices are good. I had purchased other items from them previously. I was able to forgive the first incident, but when they lied about having the items in stock the second time, I was done with them.
No big deal. We have local sporting goods stores that price match and SWFA will price match as well.
