On beam scales part two

I purteed up my M5 today with ‘S&W red’ ceracote. There are only 2 things in nature the same color as ‘Ohaus brown’. One is mud and then the other…
I wasnt able to save the pointer scale but dont need it anyhow. Anywhere out of the black line is +\- one kernel of H4350.

Looks good, and at least your cup and holder are setting straight ...

new old scale, "Micro Precision'. I think it is a Pacific or Redding early scale. I really like the sharp notches. Been playing, I mean, working with it. Very nice.

If you would like, I’ll be happy to send you a graduation plate. You can just glue it in place .

It’s coming! I just haven’t been willing to stand in line at the post. I suppose I could have gone to Office Max to get one of those bubble-pack mailers. I’ll be home Weds and will get it done

Pictured below are two matching Redding #1 scales (my personal favorite). Their pans are perfectly interchangeable and their calibrations match to the kernel. This represents my best work to date!

Starting Monday, Nov 18, and then every Monday till Christmas, I will be posting for sale a tuned scale. These will be Reddings, Ohaus and Lymans, including at least one M5. These will be discounted $10 from normal price. First I’ll take it gets it. 1st Runner up may negotiate a similar price on a 2nd scale.

All the best,

Scott

Will you be putting those on this forum or the classifieds?

I often get the question: Scott, what scale do you use? It is a bit tricky to answer as I often use whatever is on my bench at the time. So, I’ve loaded with M5s, D5s and Reddings of all shapes and colors. I shoot conventional NRA long range prone. It is very repeatable for me to have an SD in the single digits for 20 shots. The average velocities varying no more than what the weather produces. Knowing very intimately how a scale behaves allows me great flexibility in using any number of scales to load with. So, if you have a scale from me, there’s some reasonable chance that I may have used it to load for a match. All the best to you and yours in the new year.
