Ohio Crime Declines With Constitutional Carry

Liberals and stupid people are my biggest threat. Why give their feeble dysfunctional brains something to think about that involves you? I like being the guy that knows how to use the self checkout without any help and gets out of the supermarket or Home Depot without talking to a single person or attracting any attention.

Great video and very sound closing statements. I’m in Arizona, you can carry concealed without a permit or open carry. Pro and cons to each as well stated in the video in reply #13.

I rarely carry open now days. On hunting trips, among other ”gun people” etc I tend to carry open. If I‘m in the movie theatre, accompanying the wife on a shopping trip, church (yes I conceal carry at church, many in my area do ), at school activities I’ll carry concealed if allowed by law. I tend to avoid, when I can, places I can not legal carry. Including Walmart which I avoid at all cost, can’t stand the place.

In some scenarios I carry open and not everyone appreciates it, outback hiking trails is a good example. Where I use to only see fellow hunters out in remote places I now see more and more people who found the place on FB, IG or by way of their local hiking club. Many of these people are new to the southwest and don’t share positive view of firearms. In those cases I say too bad, I’ll enjoy the right when in mountain lion country, wolf country or bad human beans country. I try to be sensitive and polite but I also try and use common sense.

Why can't you conceal carry in Wal Mart? I think they allow it. I don't think they allow open carry. If you just hate the place, I can understand that.

I also have lived my entire life in Ohio and lets be clear, the is a distinct difference between "open carry" and "concealed carry". It is true that open carry has been around for some time, BUT if some tree hugging libtard sees it, has a panic attack and calls the local law enforcement, it's a good chance the you will be charged with "inciting to panic". Now this is a misdemeanor, but who wants to go through all the BS? Concealed carry, whether with or without a CHL is by far the better of the two options.
I hope this helped,

Lloyd
im sorry but you cannot be charged with inciting panic or anything else if you are doing an open carry. That has been proven over and over. No one is going to arrest anyone on for open carry in Ohio. I cant speak to other states. There have been plenty of retard so called 2nd amendment audits, a phrase I find offensive, going around different locations in Ohio with a rifle slung or handgun holstered on a belt or whatever just wondering around in the hopes of nothing more than causing someone to call, which they always will, and then having the police show up with the hopes that they arrest or detain or something so they can sue. And there is no concealed license requirement in Ohio any longer

If your a DEI or social justice "warrior" you would ignore a drop in crime rate perpetrated by citizens actions. You only believe race based bail/jail/sentence lengths reform and drug legalization is the answer for reducing crime.

I have to respond to this idea of ; "Anyone who "Open Carrys is playing Tough Guy saying Look at Me mentality . Living in a state where Open Carry has been the "Norm" for over 100 years , and seeing many handgun's Open Carried for decades has not caused a issue until the last ten or so years . The same relative time when their was a Mass population growth of people moving here from the eastern and upper Mid-western states . These people brought their fears and anxieties with them , and I had people asking me why I was carrying a gun . My standard answer became ; "Because I can"! At which point ; I then had to explain Arizona Gun Laws to them , and also explain that I lived in a rural area , and shared my living space with Bobcats , Mountain Lions , Bears , and other predator species . My usual closing comment to these "types" was , This is Arizona . Not downtown New York , or Chicago .

Anybody want to tell me why I should have to give up MY safety and security to stroke someone else's fears and anxieties ?

^^^^^ Good Post.

North Phoenix, Bell Road and something Avenue, in a strip mall parking lot showing a student and co-interested friend how a secondary sight mounted at a 45 on a carbine would look and feel. Five squad car and six PPD officers make a slow approach. We started to talk and within seconds a duty sergeant showed up seen the CWP cards and told the officer pack up and get back on patrol. Told me and my friend he was sorry for the interruption and have a nice day. I told him Thank You and Watch Your Six as well as say hi to Sgt. X, and X, and X when you see them. He then walked over to a red SUV parked in the parking lot of a nearby bank drive thru and it had rental tags. The first officer I spoke to said they had a call there may be a bank robbery attempt. Now I'll put 2+2 together, the calling person with the rental car was from out of state and when they saw two guys handling a gun they went panic mode and called 911. Me and my friend had worked many times with Maricopa County SO, PPD, and the surrounding PD's and were pretty well known so no big deal with our interaction that day. The Sgt was probably reporting back to the caller and putting them at ease, most likely saying something like Thank You for calling and adding this is Arizona, blah, blah, blah. I've never seen or heard of a riot caused by open carry in Arizona or in Ohio, or heard, read, seen anyone charged with 'inciting to panic' but the myth's will continue. Both open and concealed carry have there time and place, fortunately I live in a state I still have a choice....mostly!

It makes it easier for the criminals to also carry a hand gun. It works both ways. I don't believe the statistics.
I am always amused when people seem to think that putting words on paper would have any effect on criminals or the insane. Criminals have no problem carrying firearms because they do not care about the law. I think that you will find that a lot of mass shootings have taken place in areas that are legally designated gun free. These zones virtually guarantee that any potential victims will be unarmed.
