Official Gun Pix 'Pride & Joy' Thread

Picked up a Ruger Number one I’ve been after for a few years now. Probably a chambering most guys wouldn’t want, 30-30. Should be fun. They had a new Marlin 44 mag, I grabbed it too but the excitement for me is the 30-30. Mounted a vintage gloss Leupold that is starting that old purple patina that some Leupolds do, perfect for that rifle.

Gorgeous! Nice rifle Bill!

UPS just dropped of four rifles fresh from ODCR. Left to Right, 22-6.5PRC (brother’s), 260 AI, 22x47 and a 22-6.5PRC for me. Zack always does a great job with his fit and finish, looks great. I’ve never had Rifle that he built that hasn’t shot small, fun!

This is my new "Pro-Mod" F-Open rifle. Being a long-time drag racer & fabricator kind of drew me in to build an aluminum chassis combo. This Competition Machine chassis from Gary Eliseo handles great and tracks like it's on rails due to it's super low center of gravity. This rifle also shoots like a perfectly tuned Pro-Mod car thanks to the gunsmithing & chambering talent of Omar Alonzo. I have recently won a mid-range 600yd match and a 2nd place 1000yd match at Bayou Rifles with this dude. This rifle is only limited by my wind call abilities, (lol).

Stock: Competition Machine F1 aluminum F-Open chassis. It's got fully adjustable length of pull, butt pad & check rest. Falcon Strike butt pad, "Penquin" Grip.
Rifle weighs-in @ 21 lbs, 14.1 oz.
Finish: "Icy-Hot" custom anodizing by Caustic Customs.
Action: Bat M. RB, LP, RE, magnum bolt, B&A Comp. trigger
Barrel: Brux 1-8.5 twist, 1.350" first 5" then straight-tapered down to 1.050" at the muzzle, 32" long. V2 Tuner. 300 Below cryo-treated. Chambered in no-turn 7-6.5 PRC, Alonzo Custom Rifles reamer.
Scope: March-X 8-80, MTR1 reticle mounted with March Superlight Titanium scope rings.
Cartridge: Lapua 6.5 PRC necked-up to 7mm. 210M primers, Berger 180 Hybrids, 53.32 grains H4350 @ 2865 fps. Jumped .033" from "touch".

Here is an article Accurate Shooter did on this rig: Sunday Gun Day June 30 2024

Got another TL3 recently to build a slow twist 6 ARC on an XLR folder since I have room for one more in my safe. I got tired of waiting for the 6 ARC barrel so I went ahead and temporarily screwed a Shilen 13 twist 6 PPC barrel onto the TL3. Anyway my new March 5-42x scope came in last Wednesday so decided to mount the scope and load up some 68 FBs with 29 grains N133 and went to the range this AM before I swap out the barrels later. Got lucky and got a nice 5 shot group at 100 yards. Maybe I should leave this barrel on. LOL (Caliper zeroed at 0.243)
