O my, FED-Ex

Has anyone ever had trouble with FedEx delivering powder? I got texts 3 days saying the package was coming that day, me or my wife waited home all day to sign, then they never showed. Called, but they couldn’t seem to find it. Went to the local office after they told me it would be there, still no package.
Anyone else have trouble with FedEx?

I usually specify "anything but FedEx" on my orders.
I ordered 8 pounds of RL16 from Midsouth Shooters and got notification that it was shipped with UPS. The delivery date came and went and I finally contacted MidSouth and they said the would check with UPS. Meanwhile the tracking info disappeared from the UPS website. Midsouth called back and said that because powder is a Hazmat shipment, they had to wait a week for UPS to investigate. UPS finally said it was lost and Midsouth shipped me another 8 pounds by UPS and it eventually showed up. Only took a month from the original order date to get it. I figure someone in the UPS chain though they needed it more than I did.

Holiday package season is here. McMillan is shipping my stock real soon. As soon as I get the tracking # I'll start biting my nails. Or is that tracking hashtag? Haha

I have had two different packages shipped Fed Ex in the last month, I got tracking numbers on both real quick, they gave a date to be delivered, came the day before for on and day of for the other and the tracking data stopped and then changed to no info available. Both packages I ended up getting at least a week after the said delivery date. I have an expensive one that was supposed to be here today, stuck close to home because I didn't want it sitting on the porch, waited and waited, taking said it was out for delivery in my city. Now I check the tracing history it says it will be delivered on mon. The tracking history shows it leaving AL. went to several states, departed Salt lake, UT on 11-28, Arrived in AZ. on 11-29 and then shows back in route to Salt Lake, UT. By the way I live in Ca. Lets just say I'm not holding my breath. Tis the Season!!!!

Received a new cell phone via fed ex yesterday and it came a day early.

One of the best things I ever did was to rent a Private Mail Box (PMB). Mine is at a UPS store (used to be a Mailboxes Etc) but there are lots of places that rent them. They sign for packages from any carrier and will even accept handwritten notes from friends and relatives.

1. Nobody needs to know my address.
2. I never have to hang around to sign for something.
3. I never come home to find expensive packages left on my front porch.
4. I never come home to find a note on the door saying I have 28 minutes to drive across town to the UPS (or Fedex) distribution center if I want my package.
5. Nothing is ever stolen from my mailbox or porch.
6. They send me an email when I get a package. So I know immediately through the day if a package has shown up. The email has the tracking number on it so I can usually figure out which package it is.
7. I get almost no junk mail in my PMB.

Probably other advantages but I can't think of them right now. I did just renew my driver's license and it now has the PMB address on it.

I ordered a new power supply from Dell for my laptop, and paid extra to have it expedited (mine has totally failed). It was set to arrive Friday Nov 30 by the end of business. EOB came and went, no package. Checked Fed-Ex tracking site, randomly changed to deliver Sat Dec 1. Called Dell, explained the issue. They confirmed the delayed delivery, and refunded shipping cost ($12.99). I'm not happy with the change of delivery, but getting free 3 day shipping (if it arrives Sat), and I'll be satisfied.

On another note, I usually order anywhere from 64 - 128 pounds of RL-50 and other powders each year and anywhere from 1000 to 5000 primers. The usual delivery is from Fed-Ex and for that, they have been excellent. I know the usual delivery guy by first name and vice-versa. He rings the bell, and waits for me to bring a dolly out to haul in my order. Helps me load it on my dolly (I'm partially disabled), and even holds the door for me to get back inside. I ALWAYS make sure he gets a nice Christmas Tip from my house.

We get many packages from UPS (know that driver well too), usually heavy boxes of projectiles. Get same treatment from them, and we tip them too. Same UPS guy usually delivers all the Amazon Free Shipping orders that the USPS can't handle as well.

I even have my USPS delivery lady trained. I make sure drive and walkway are always cleared of snow before she gets here. I even tip her during Christmas as well. She gives excellent service.

CB,

I hope you never get pulled over by the police. If they run your license and plate data and the information does not match; you could be in for a very interesting afternoon...

Same thing here...had a signature required FedEx delivery scheduled for Friday the 30th...tracked it all the way from California. Got automated phone call from FedEx Thursday confirming I had a delivery scheduled for Friday the 30th that was signature required...waited home all day, late afternoon checked tracking number...delivery date changed to Saturday the 1st(today). Another day to sit around and wait. Oh well...it's raining anyway.

These days I have to say that FEDEX really isn't anymore worthless than any other company.....they leave packages right in the middle of my garage door. You pull in, hit the opener and have to stop, get out, move the package, get back in and pull in. I caught one of them in the act one day and was very nice about it. I explained the problem and he just kind of had this 1000 yard crystal meth stare that got worse afterwards. I also showed him the breezeway that stays unlocked and they don't have to use plastic wrappers if it is raining. Dude, just put it in the breezeway!!! Nope, next package right in front of the wife's garage door.
About two weeks ago I came home to find a package mis-delivered. The address wasn't even close, I mean it wasn't even the correct town!!! It only takes 20 minutes to find a phone number...another 45 minutes might get a live human being {credit given} on the line...she says "just leave it outside I'll have the next driver that goes by stop and pick it up. Two weeks and not a Fedex driver one has came by my house. That is until this morning...he didn't take the package and when I ran out to wave him down the moron looks right at me, waves and drives off!!! DON'T USE FEDEX!!!!!

My recent experience with powder via FedEx was it showed "on the truck for delivery. I happened to be outside when the truck arrived, waited by the truck and after 5-10 minutes, the driver said he couldn't find it...so I explained it was Hazmat and a light must have went on in his head and said "oh"...he went back to look and came back with the powder for me to sign for...he explained that Hazmat is stored separately inside the truck and that's why he was unable to find it on the shelves.....

I’ve had some expensive stuff delivered by both FedX and UPS. Have had zero problems. I think it really depends on the driver. They know me. Now, when it goes from UPS to USPS, that’s another issue! I have different mail carriers every two weeks or so. They have been good and they have been very bad! I’ve had many issues with USPS, they just don’t give a damn! Just my 2 cents....
