Nosler Rifle Brass

Is this brass any good? How does it compare to Lapua? With the price it is going for it is the most expensive rifle brass I ever saw.

I bought seconds .22-250 at a reasonable price. Not a problem at all. Getting 3/8" group in my .22-250 XP-100 handgun. I see no difference with Lapua.
I did a tour of Nosler a few years ago . Asked them what made them seconds. They said a few older employes went thru all the bullets/cases. If they didn't like the "way they looked" they went in the seconds box!!
I've used their seconds in bullets & brass. Can't see anything wrong. Used them in Africa, US without problems.

I recently bought some Nosler Premium Brass and it was far from "Ready to Load". Many of the case mouths were dented/deformed. The brass is just packaged in a bag where it can all rattle around, nothing like the divided case you get from ADG or Peterson.

I normally expect to have to prep new brass, at least run an expander mandrel through it. My gripe is they advertise "ready to load" and charge accordingly...but that's not what you actually get.

I sent Nosler an cordial email letting them know my frustrations. All I got back was "I'll pass your concerns to packaging".

I haven't shot it yet. General consensus seems to be their brass is pretty good. But I'll never pay for their premium brass again.

I do all the steps that Nosler does for their brass, regardless of the make.
Size, trim, camfer & deburr, uniform the primer pocket, camfer & deburr the flash hole.
If I'm checking those things anyways, I'll just do the work and save my money.

They didn't shoot any better or worse than anyone else's brass.
Didn't last any longer either.

Shooting it in a neck turn chamber in UBR and consistently placing in top 3. I've been neck sizing only until it fully forms to the chamber. Did uniform pockets and anneal each firing. No complaints. As already said, I go thru these steps anyway so a dinged neck isn't a deal breaker for me. Haven't been able to get Lapua and this is working fine. YMMV

Over the years I have had dinged neck, on occasion, with every known brand of brass, when it was shipped to me, even the top one some have mentioned as best one on the market.
It did not bother me, as I double check all brass and prep it, as some have also mentioned, so a dent from shipping, etc does not rock my boat.
As for OP's question on Nosler brass, it is good brass, as so many others are. If you want to spend the extra money for it and others, do so. If you don't buy lesser priced brass. Nosler makes a fine product, but you will have to decide for YOURSELF and not listen to others opinion, including mine.

Not trying to be a smartass , what did you guys find wrong with it. Just asking. I thought it was alright but I dont have a set of guages. It is high priced. Doug

I've got some in 22-250. It did look good coming out of the box, but I didn't weigh any or check necks for uniformity of thickness. Accuracy has been fine using it but it seems as though the primer pockets are not holding up as good as Lapua or the old blue bag Winchester stuff.
I think overall that it is overpriced.

As I stated, I check everything anyways. So the premium for having it done beforehand doesn't pay off.
For me it wasn't any better or worse than any other brass. So again the premium doesn't pay for itself.
The only brass I ever got that didn't have any dings in the neck is Peterson.

@Poconolg,

Is this for a hunting rifle or competition rifle?
The only reason I ask is that almost all my rifles are hunting.
I've shot every manufacturer of brass except for Lapua and ADG.

For quality beyond what the price would suggest, I really like PPU brass.

It sure isn't the same Quality as ADG or Lapua especially since the price is about the same.

Thanks guys, I bought the nosler 22-250 brass back when you couldnt find anything. The last brass I bought was winchester. Got some lapua ,remington, hornady. Any of it shoots good eno ugh for me, once its fireformed. I can see where neck concentricity would have a role in accuracy but dont have a way to check it. Doug

Nosler isn’t bad brass. My personal experience is it won’t hold up like Lapua, ADG or Alpha though. If you I had the choice I’d opt for Lapua first choice.

Hopefully, you Got some of,.. the GOOD Nosler,. stuff !
Let us Know how,.. it's working out for, You !
.22-250 Brass HAS Been, hard to Find, lately,. So,. "Good Score" !!
