nosler brass ?

Is anyone useing the nosler rifle brass? any caliber? what do you think of it?

I was going to buy a new rifle in 257 roberts and looking at the nosler brass..brass seems a bit scarce in the roberts..most places were out..seasonal runs of it,,it seems..and win and nosler showed brass that was what they called +P..for modern rifles and hoter loads..I found some in the nosler brass..

The Nosler brass that I have used is very consistent, but I hate paying for the case prep that I usually do myself.I like doing the work myself, and would probably buy Winchester brass. You can't go wrong, either way. Lightman

Nosler does not make any brass. Their packaged brass and factory ammo is Norma that has been weight sorted. I know this for a fact. At first when they came out with their custom ammo they used Winchester brass that was fully prepped. Now 99% of all brass from Nosler is Norma weight sorted and repackaged.

If indeed it is Norma brass there is no comparison between the 6.5-284 brass I got. The Norma is so much better. Far more consistant, and I think is annealed better.

My nosler 260 brass all measured 2.015 and trimmed to length is supposed to be 2.025 minimum. Everyone says it's OK but I don't know why they just don't make it the right way. I feel like with reloading right is right and wrong is wrong. I don't really know enough about all this to feel good about using it. They sell it as premium brass. Back then, Lapua 260 brass didn't exist. So I bought it and paid top dollar. It was consistant but in my opinion it was consistantly wrong.

I have posted this before but I bought 260 Rem brass from Nosler as there was no other game in town. The brass shot excellent the first time but the necks were too thin to use my resizing die to get them tight enough to hold a bullet. I sent some back to Nosler and they told me to get new dies!

I called Forster and told them my problem. Their response was "let me guess, that @#&$ Nosler brass!" Enough said. Lapua makes 260 Rem brass now so it is a non-issue.

I use Nosler brass in my Savage target action .204 Ruger. I bought 150 of their seconds from their bargain store and another 100 of the higher-priced first line stuff. Both lots were very consistent, but the casings were only 1.835" long instead of the trim-to-length of 1.840". After the first firing most of the casings wind up measuring 1.828" to 1.830".

I, too, prefer to do my own case prep, but I thought I would buy the "best" for this Savage target action and see how it played out. The rifle shoots great, but it may have shot great even with WW brass.

Like an earlier poster, I wish they would quit making the brass shorter than it is supposed to be. Nosler brass and the .20 TAC Dakota Lapua brass are the only high-end brass casings I have purchased. I find that my WW brass seems to be every bit as good as the Nosler brass and way cheaper to buy.

Thanks for the info guys. I have had some norma brass over the years and was never turned on by it.
one time hornady offered 22-250 brass as premium brass so i bought it and the second fireing some on the first split the necks..hornady said must be my chamber. well the old cooper 22-250 had winchester cases that had been fired eight times with no problems and could agg ..350's so i know it was just junk brass and from the looks of it they may have been norma.. if i cant get lapua brass , i go win or even rem. but i may try the nosler just because of availibilty till i find some win.
