Noise from 300 blackout

Now that's something I didn't think of, down loading a 223 round.
Would that only work in a bolt gun?
Any idea what speed that's running?
Have you used it on anything?
Mine is doing 2800 fps out of a 16" thompson contender.
Ive taken countless beaver with it. 3 hogs and 1 coyote

I have run my 223 BlueDot loads down to 4gr with 60gr cast bullets with a 14" barrel the 35 gr Vmax works well too, very damn carefully worked down to, still not that quiet, Light bullets with TrailBoss are quitter, But again you need to really slowly approach light loads .2 grain increments, Today at the range was shooting 256 win mag with 90gr cast, with light TrailBoss charges I could hear the hammer spring in my contender louder than the report, The formulas for light loading are available from Hogdon for TrailBoss, for BlueDot an old but still there thread on 24hr

I've fiddled around with light loads all the way down to 1 grain of bullseye and they still seem to crack like a son of a gun. Long barrels 26" help a lot but the risk of bullet sticking increases.

I also load 4.4gr of clays behind a 77gr SMK in 223 chronograph at 1050fps through a 16”AR.
Super quiet through a can and .22 lr quiet without a can and very accurate.
