No more USPS MOs

Yep. My bank won't cash them either. I tell people to send a personal check or paypal.

No more Pypal here.

Ya all will love this. It's happened to me TWICE. I go into the PO and give them CASH to create a MO, say $100, for something I am paying for. No problem excepting my cash. THEN, I pull a PMO out of my wallet that I want to cash for LESS than what I JUST handed the clerk, and had them look me in the eye and say they don't have the cash on hand to honor that PMO I'm trying to cash. Remember, My feet have not moved. I have not left the building and come back. They just flat refused to cash the MO. It happened @ 2 different post offices weeks apart. Now if I have to cash one I just go to my bank. I Hate the USPS.
And they want us to trust mail in ballots.

I checked with my bank who I have dealt with for about 40 years and bought 2 homes through along with several vehicles. Their policy is the same as accepring any checks. If your an established customer no problem they will cash USPS money otrders for you. It highlights the advantage of having a long term relationship with a financial institution.

I went to my post office yesterday to purchase a money order. Before I did I asked if they could cash one, I was told no. She explained that reason was because she just came on and had a new drawer, meaning limited funds. I believe it's a bit of a standard for them to take your money, but not cash their money orders. She said you may be able to go to a BIGGER town and cash it. I don't do PayPal so I have used many a USPMO for purchases. I will also send a personal check and wait till it clears if the seller will accept this payment option. Before I post this a thought just popped into my head, I wonder if they have a BBB rating?

Yes, they were unsuccessful in blocking mail-in ballots. The NRLB didn't find their argument persuasive.
I guess Bezos realize Biden and his tax increase isn't good for business. Maybe he thought he was immune but he is a straight white man in America so he has been depicted as part of the problem.

Just sold a bow to a young man in PA. He paid with a Postal Money Order.

Do you know how hard it is to cash a MO for over $100? Holy crap! Went to 3 different post offices today and not one of them could do it. The big PO had 4 different tellers going, but not one of them had the cash in the drawer to cover the MO. Each of them had "almost enough" but Post Office regulations won't let them transfer money from one drawer to the next. How stupid is that!

I bank with NFCU and the closest branch is over 100 miles away. I guess I am going to have to mail in the deposit.

So, no more money orders for me. I can mobile deposit a personal check and have the money in my account in less than 2 days (or know if the check won't clear too). Probably going to go that route now.
Must understand the big picture. It would be darned near impossible to convert the world into a "cashless society" and still let all us rednecks deal in cash.
PO, Wally-World, grocery store, big box self checkouts, direct deposit are all moving us closer to total disclosure...and each transaction being taxed.

The one thing so like about USPS Money Orders is that you can call 1-866-459-7822 and verify that it is valid when you receive one.

My PO is small, but has only once not been able to cash one but a lot of mine are under $100.

Not so long ago, You could cash the Postal MO almost anywhere and you'll get your cash instantly. USPS delivery in time and if not they would fix it without you having to call them. What happened.

i usually ask the buyer to split payment into 2 money orders that way they can usually cash 1 or maybe both. come back the next day to cash the other. also helps if you go at the end of the day. i hope this helps.

Postal money orders are not the paper they are printed on
I have been stung twice along with no one wanting to cash them.
Post Office unwilling to help with a 2 k problem ( they do not care).
Police at thief’s location unwilling to prosecute because of cost and time involved. DA was of no help. Over worked under paid and just doing what they can or unwilling to do.

I quit using PMOs after having one lost in the mail and hoops they made me jump through to try to get my money back. I was a point in life where I literally didn’t have time to deal with it, so I accepted the loss and vowed not to use them again.

I’ve lost out on a few deals here on the forum because from sellers that will only accept PMOs as payment. I always offer to pay by check and let the seller hold the item until the check clears, but some folks just won’t have it.
