I have seen more then one S111 FAIL. I don't get on here and bash them. Yes they fixed them, but that is not the point. Also the points brought up in the Jewell thread were all valid points by many people. MattMatt, you must have been out in the heat to long.LDS
Sightron is the more scope for the money invested than
any other brand. LDS
I have been thinking about the riflescope issue for quite some time. We all expend a great deal of time and money on this accuracy game. Thought of the assembly of a scope checker, another expense.
What I really wish to see is an enterprising individual or team with mechanical/ technical ability begin a modification to an existing riflescope. Perhaps some one that was employed by a major manufacture and understands the internals of a modern rifle scope and/or has the ability to machine the parts necessary to make those windage and elevation adjustments bullet proof. I don't believe (probably incorrectly) that the disassembly of a rifle scope is rocket science. Hopefully that individual is in the immediate background and contemplating these same issue, is tired of all the bull and will begin what I feel is a "can't miss business."

I told tom to send me a comp scope and Ill tear into it. Judging by the scope checker thread I think there would be a very small market. Most people are in denial and "never had an issue". Well, we never had an issue either until we figured it out. I know I spent a year chasing trying to shave off 1-2" at 1k that I knew could be done. It was not until I sold the scope to a friend who complained of accuracy issues also that the light bulb went off. I got that scope back and guess what? It moved .2 moa. The scope cost me multiple barrels, stocks, action work, tons of time and energy, components, exc. I was dense, that rifle was unreal when it wore its March. I swapped the scope out because the new one had such good glass in it. It never shot well again. Optical quality means nothing if the scope is not solid.I have been thinking about the riflescope issue for quite some time. We all expend a great deal of time and money on this accuracy game. I think if it's reasonable there are at least a few of us that would get it done just for peace of mind. To have a rock solid Comp with the glass quality would be win win.I told tom to send me a comp scope and Ill tear into it. Reviews are nothing more then somebody's opinion. Everybody sees things differently, their eyes are different. I have also seen where some scopes of the same model are just better then others. I would rather have reliability and slightly less picture quality. You can't win without reliability. Mattjust my 2 cents ( and probably only worth one) but when i bought my 8x32 siii it was compared to the nf 42x and the siii 50x. the 32x was equal to or better in 3 different reviews. one said the nf was better overall but barely. the other 2 called the 32x better than either of the other two scopes. i owned a 42x nf and the 32x siii and sold the nf. supposedly the 32x is clearer than the 50x siii. like i said, just my 2 cents.
