March glass vs Nightforce and Leupold

Just FYI, we (March Optics USA Inc.) have a USA servicing center and you no longer have to send the scopes to Japan if you live within USA. We also have added 5 more years of servicing of the March scopes for any scopes purchased from March Optics USA Inc. or its dealers.

I want to congratulate Shiraz for running a tight ship and bringing a "can do" attitude to the shooting business and being a real asset to the shooting community.

I have two March 10-60. One had the regular covered nobs and one had the tactical nobs. Prior to Shiraz representing March I had been told that I couldn't have the turrets changed to tactical nobs and would need to buy a new scope. When Shiraz took over the USA distribution I made another inquiry and I was told that the nobs could be changed. I sent off my scope to his people and it was returned to me within 4 weeks.

More recently I wanted to buy a large quantity of Berger 200 hybrids, while many other distributors offered excuses, instead of dismissing my request, his people endeavored to accommodate my request.

Slowly but steadily Bullets.com and Grizzly has become my first/only place to go for bullets, barrels, reloading tools and shooting supplies. The powder prices are still a little high, but I have confidence that as his volume picks up that too will change and he will do to Powder Valley the same thing he's doing to Sinclair and Midway .

Kindest regards,

Joe

Called Bullets.com friday to talk March scopes
Looking at a 5-40-56 FFP MOA and looks like I will place my order next week.
Anyone else using one of these could use some comments before I order.

The 5-40x56 has a exit pupil of 1.4 will this be a problem if the scope is also used for hunting and not used only for target shooting??

Not on a low to mid range power BUT I wouldn't want to have it set to 40x shooting a heavy recoiling rifle.

I am looking for any input about the March 2,5-25x52 Tactical scope. I saw the MTR-5 reticle and I think it would be interesting choice for my 7mm RM hunting rifle.

Here are some more results! A Valdada scope just won the Missouri State Championship!

Bart I had a 9-36x56 Valdada Like ten years ago..awesome scope and about as BIG N HEAVY as it was awesome but then I had a problem with the Parallax it had to be adjusted after every shot..Had it on a 6BR Varmint rifle. I called the service number a bunch of times and never got ahold of anyone..EVER....so I traded it in at a optics place...Do they have a service for them now?

Not for sure what happened there! They have moved to Texas. In most cases it's up to Val with how a repair gets handled. Basically it's his choice to send it back for repair or just replace it.

Big and heavy is a very correct discrpition! I'd like to see those put on a diet and loose about 1/2 a pound.

I have 6-24 IOR /Valdata that I have had it for a long time. When it was almost new the parallex needed adjusted after every shot. I sent it back and it was replaced by Val, with much BS about this doesn't happen, never heard this before about IOR scopes. They said they mounted my scope on a 308 rifle ( I use my scope on a braked 338 lap ) and it never moved parallex. But they sent me a new scope. The parallex has moved on this scope with every shot. I really like this scope it is way clearer than both of my Nightforces. It still needs parallex adjusted after every shot, but after dealing with Val I have given up. I had such high hopes when I saw Bart was selling IORs, I thought he might be the warranty center now. Put if Val is still involved I am stuck with it as is, I have no faith in him to be honest and fix it. I have no doubts that the 36 X Bart sells is a top quality scope, I do have doubts about Val and his employees.

The only Valdada I ave experience with had the exact same issue. It was sent back multiple times, finally my buddy GAVE it away. Not knocking them, but all scopes can fail.

The rifle I mounted the IOR to between both scopes has less than 200 rounds. Its never been on any other rifle unless you believe Vals helper that it was mounted to a 308 and worked fine when I returned it. George the lawyer that used to shoot at Manatee beat me in a shot off to win the 1000yd monthly match a few years ago. Did he win cause I forgot to adjust the parallex in the shot off? I can remember if I adjusted it or not.
