All the committees have been neglected, that is why adding another isn’t going to improve the product.I've been shooting F-TR for 12 years; so I'm not completely unaware of some of the problems that have occurred in the past. However, today is the first time where it was publicly announced that F-Class shooters may finally enjoy a little autonomy and control of their own destiny. The details aren't even out yet and the response seems overly negative and pessimistic, IMO. All I'm saying is let's just give it chance.
F-Class has suffered from a kind of benign neglect over the years in part because it has been a subdivision of Highpower. You and everyone else know exactly what I'm talking about, no other description is necessary. I would like to think a little separation between the two disciplines is a step in the right direction, not a potential negative. However, I have no illusions that everything F-Class will instantly become all rainbows and unicorn tears. Nonetheless, this could be the beginning of something good, and I'm trying to keep a positive attitude about it. The key will be that the committee is actually composed of bona fide F-Class shooters, not just shooters from some other discipline that may have participated in F-Class a few times and really don't have a vested interest in F-Class shooting.
I would like to nominate Norm H. as the Supreme Leader of our new F-Class Overlords.
Maybe this will be good, but if it further drives a divide between conventional sling prone events and fclass that is a bad thing. The sports are dying fast enough on their own, increasing animosity and having two committees working in vacuums won’t improve the situation.
CMP doesn't give 2 shits about F Class. All it takes is one look at their official score card. It just says F Class. No distinction between Open and TR. We're just another thorn in the side of sling shooters.Fclass should be going to CMP
REALLY?! I'm freaking speechless! We're just another thorn in the side of sling shooters.
REALLY? About what?REALLY?! I'm freaking speechless!
Perhaps a conversation with the CMP could give a better perspective on whether or not they have an interest in fclass. They have staffing, financial means and etargets. They are surely serious about competitive shooting. They have been expanding their pistol interests over the last few years so why not fclass?CMP doesn't give 2 shits about F Class. Most of the competitive shooting sports are full of old guys with bad eyes. If you want to see shooters that aren't sipping the Geritol then go visit a PRS match. That's where the kids are. Does NRA and CMP gives a rats butt about PRS? Nope. And the PRS folks don't give a rats butt about the NRA, CMP, F Class, HP, or sling shooters either. Pick up any shooting magazine and it will be full of rifle pics and articles pertaining to PRS. You rarely ever see a F class or sling rig in them because those are old and dying grandpa's sports. Here in NC PRS match locations far exceed any other rifle shooting venue.F-Class, born from Fullbore in Canada and carried over to High Power, following the Rules already written....not just to be another discipline, but to let old guys with bad eyes and worn-out bodies still compete with optics and rests.
I don't think this will be a good thing.
apparently there is, ,, they added it to the Smallbore program last year..Perhaps a conversation with the CMP could give a better perspective on whether or not they have an interest in fclass. PRS organizations have clearly, and successfully applied proven marketing tactics. Most of the competitive shooting sports are full of old guys with bad eyes. Does this mean that F Class is going to go shoot their discipline in their own events, clubs, etc., (fingers crossed) away from Highpower Events? The NRA Board of Directors meeting today in Dallas, Texas, just voted to create a new permanent standing committee just for F-Class.
The new committee is called the F-Class High Power Rifle Committee and will have jurisdiction over all F-Class High Power Rifle Competition rules and programs. This means that the old High Power Rifle Committee will no longer have jurisdiction over F-Class.
F-Class is now officially a full-blown, mature, stand-alone shooting discipline, independent and separate from the rest of High Power.
“It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future.”"Let’s be honest, with where the NRA is in legal issues it isn’t going to last much longer."
And with that spiffy western sport shooting complex (UT?) what better venue to have it at.apparently there is, ,, they added it to the Smallbore program last year..
