New Lapua Brass for 2024

Sorry ! Big freakin whoop , when they can't manage to make and ship any .308 Palma Brass to one of their primary markets . But they can make "new" brass in another caliber ? So what am I missing ?
I may be very wrong but I assume that their engineers still need something to do while their production lines are swamped with other work at the moment. I do understand your feelings though and I kinda feel the same but I try to look at the big picture and keep my fingers crossed that it's a good sign, that introduction of new stuff might mean that they foresee getting caught up on the other stuff that's had them covered up for a long time now. It's hard for me not to sympathize with them, having Russia breathing down their necks for this long while. If their new stuff is like the old, it'll be worth the wait in the long run. The scary part is how dependent we all are on other countries to produce the kind of quality that we used to lead the world in making. If anything, it may have brought us new options, like Peterson, ADG and Alpha. If the quality is equal to or better than Lapua, I'll always buy American but so far, I've not see it to be as good. Not sure why, though.

All this waiting around, hanging on the next lapua news flash seems silly.

Once upon a time they were the only pretty girl at the dance.

As in until 5-10 years ago.

Now if you’re honest there’s ADG, Peterson, Alpha.

Not saying lapua ain’t still good but people think they’re like Ford when it comes to pickups or something. There’s other good options in brass unlike pickups. Plus American made.

Let’s evolve people

I don't understand what business model they are following. We can't keep up with production...let's make more, but different cartridges.
I think I explained a possible scenario in my last post. Not that I'm right but that it's logical...The engineers kept designing and working even while production has been based around a few old(likely NATO)cartridges.

Looooot of people should quit complaining and just buy enough of what they need when it’s in stock.

Brass and bullets are made to sell- not sit on shelves. You can’t get mad that they don’t make both a wide variety and enough to rot on shelves while you change your mind 5 times about what you want to buy.

Reading through their announcement, they are saying they are starting up additional line or lines which will help with long term capacity. This allowing them to make these new offerings and help with the backlog of the current offerings. If one is wanting to add additional offerings it only makes sense to do it on a new line. You can make sure you get the bugs worked out. You don’t want to shut down a current line that has more demand then you can meet and is running at full capacity. Management will be jumping down your butt that you are losing money.

Their announcement seemed very positive. I would expect that we will start seeing improvements in supply later in the year.

I agree and hope you're right. I'd love to see things get back to whatever normal means these days. Lol!

Currently have over 600 Lapua .308 Palma cases ; with over thirty reloads on them , that I classify as "Practice Cases , and four hundred "Match Cases " , with only five firings on them . Been working the Practice Brass for three years now , and there wasn't a Palma Brass issue three years ago , when I had those 600 , almost "NEW" cases for practice . When funds have to be discretionary , purchases get made "AS NEEDED" , more often than "I WANT". If only my crystal ball was more accurate , and I'd have known the issues in Europe would create this much of a problem . Silly me .

I’m a little sad that 222 is still on hold. I guess that they’re still working on the NATO changeover and are producing 5.56 full time with those dies, but the other lines and dies for the bigger stuff are open and available.

Sorry buddy I just can’t evolve,…. I’ve tried the other brass you mentioned and although good it’s not Lapua in my opinion. People say I’m a hoarder and maybe I am idk but if they never produce another 6br case I’ll still be ok and if they do I’ll buy more. Glad to hear there making wsm brass.

why wouldnt they make a 6ppc or 30br
I’m glad they don’t same as I’m glad they don’t make 6brx or Dasher, if it was easy everyone and there dog would be doing it, which we want people in the sport but this keeps us on our toes, you have to want it bad to go through all the processes that we do.

Phil, when you say "Lapua is actually planning to resume manufacturing your favorite suspended cases" which, specifically, case/s are you referring to?
