" the barrel interfaces with the receiver using a Savage-style barrel nut rather being shouldered to the receiver. Remington engineers chose this with manufacturability in mind. According to Remington the barrel nut is a fast attachment method, so headspace can easily be set to a minimum. "

"The 783 series uses a Savage-style floating bolt head that is pinned to the body.

"Like other triggers in this vein, the blade is a passive safety and prevents the sear from dropping unless depressed."

"has a cocking indicator in the rear of the bolt"

Floating bolt head is interesting too. Maybe it will be a accurate one then.

This outfit is the only place I buy optics from if I have the choice. The only place I will never buy from is cameraland. I will go back to shooting irons if that is the only choice.
Why not from cameraland?

I've heard good things about them. But I have no first hand experience.

I needed a specific $2k scope pronto and the only one I could find in stock was at cameraland. I called in the order and told the guy I needed it shipped priority 2-3 day and was told that it was standard. Well, after I got the tracking it went out on the ground mule train across the continent. Took 9 days to arrive in a box with insufficient stuffing, a single piece of tape securing the flap and a smashed corner. I was pi888ed and spoke to the owner and he said you should have asked for expedited as it is only 5 bucks more, and thats is the way we send out our stuff. I never get complaints like yours. I told him he would never get another one from me. I have had scopes arrive red label from EuroOptics the next day after the order. (ps: dont confuse EuroOptics with OpticsPlanet!)IMG_0719.JPGIMG_0721.JPGIMG_0720.JPG

I have a 783, 16", threaded, in .223. I finally put it in an MTD Oryx chassis, but I haven't shot it much since then.

I will say the main aggravation I had with it (and the reason I went to the chassis) is that the trigger guard is a cheap, nasty, soft piece of plastic. If you tighten the action screws a few times, they eventually split because the screw squeezes it down and out. I read that the Marlin trigger guard was metal and could be used. After making hardware repairs using stuff from ACE, and swapping it into a Boyd's stock, I got tired of it and went with the chassis.

Ggmac has a good bit of experience with them.
