It’s a zero shift due to a velocity change on a cold bore and nothing special for barrel, it was still dirty from the first day of shooting.

So you just know from shooting that particular barrel where the second shot is going or is it more random than that?
It’s just the shift I noticed while working up a load.

It was a model 112 magnum target chambered in .338 Lapua with the factory Savage Barrel, 9 twist 26 inches long
Was the rifle bought off the rack at some store or did Savage ship it directly to him?
Rifles bought off the rack at the local gun shop. Later stuck into the accurate rifle systems chassis.

Think it's funny how when ever someone does something good with a Savage, how so many wet there pants !.!.!
From my experience, sure the rifle can't be a hunk of junk, but it has very little to do with the big picture.
The ammo and the shooter are far more accountable then the brand/type of rifle and/or barrel.
Or do you think Randy would not have been able to do it with anything other then a Savage... lol

I bought the laminated stock single shot target rifle a few years back. Best value for money spent to that time and since. 4 different .338 platforms in use don’t beat it.

There have been several people asking about the equipment used so here is a rundown, Target was 2158, no spotter, 3 shots, cold bore and two followers, 36x36 Target, rifle was bought used with only 3 rounds fired and is a factory Savage 112 Magnum Target Action and Barrel 1-9 twist 26” long, rifle basics trigger, ARS Chassis, Ivey Adjustable Mount, Vortex Golden Eagle scope, 300gn Hybrid .338 Berger Bullets, Lapua Brass, Retumbo Powder, Federal 215M Primers, Henry Rempel Bi-Pod and StrelokPro Ballistic App. $4100.00 was my total cost for the rifle as fired. Total round count on rifle including the match is 132. I hope this answers most questions.
