New bullet coming from David Tubb with a G1 BC of .620

David - What market are you targeting for your new gun ? A 30" barrel seems pretty long for an XTC or PRS gun.
Well I guess it a matter of perspective.
My 30" barrel with a 2" additional muzzle break is (depending on the suppressor length) at least 2 or 3 inches shorter than a suppressed 26" barrel rifle. A lot of PRS shooters use that sort of combination.
Everyone I know who is shooting a bolt gun XTC is using at least a 28" barrel with a sight extension tube of 4" to 6". So about 32" to 34".

When one deducts the approximately 10" portion (at it's shortest adjustable position) of the folding stock of the TUBBGUN then the new rifle is approaching a 12" shorter overall transport length. The folder can be open or closed in about 5 seconds.

The TUBBGUN has 17 years of improvements over my last endeavor.

Just found this info on DTs Facebook page posted today

"115 Rebated Boat Tail reamer dimensions.

Since receiving the new DTAC 115 RBT's I have changed my straight section (freebore) to .140" with a 1 1/2 degree lead.
Neck diameter is still .278

If you stick with a freebore of .160" you just need to make sure you have a 2.850" or greater overall length in your magazine box."

IMG_5017.JPG IMG_5017.JPG Just in case you have an 8 twist barrel and are questioning stability of this bullet at sea level and out of a Dasher- James Mock shot a 10 shot group for test. He said he was pleasantly surprised.

David,

I just talked to James, he shot the test yesterday a little before 8:00 A.M. so the barometric pressure was 29.92” Hg corrected, at 72 feet above mean sea level and with a temperature of 78 F, 90 % R.H. and 75 F dew point.

I was able to pick up some of the new ones and still have a hundred or so old ones if someone wants to buy and try. They are BN coated.

Excuse me if this has already been posted elsewhere

Was just looking at David Tubb's Facebook page and found the following post

"To clear up the rumors: I'm working on a new bullet. In the meantime, I still have DTAC 115s. Working on updating the website now because it says we are out of stock. Call 806-323-9488 to place an order for DTAC 115s if you need more. The new bullet is an improvement on the old bullet but is the same weight. New 115 bullet will be ready within the next 3 months.

Our tests reveal approximately 8% improvement in BC. The new 115 will be just as friendly of a bullet as the current 115. When the current 115s are gone the new 115 will be replacing it because it shoots better."

He states that it will stabilize in an 1:8 twist or faster barrel and has a G1 BC of .620 !!!

Present DTAC 115s have a G1 BC of approx. .585.

Can you still use Tubbs 6xc die with fixed bushings for the profile of the old 115 DTACs w/ the new profile?
