new ammo manufacturer?

This was being discussed in a local forum to me and someone linked to this thread from florida.

I have no personal dealings or first hand knowledge of them though.. so take it for what it's worth

I hope it works out... because I'm not paying $80-$100 / 1000 for primers shipped. So I definitely need more in the supply stream to bring prices back down

Don't forget JJ Capital, (PSA armory among others) who has been putting together a complete manufacturing plant that was bought from Russia and should be up and running this spring in South Carolina. The first product is said to be 7.62x39 ammo with other calibers and products to follow.

That’s what I love about a free and open market. Anybody can get involved and compete. When people step into the market place with competing industries everyone wins. I don’t want anyone to “choke” or go away. I want everyone to do what is allowed in a free market………compete. Good luck to Expansion Industries. I look forward to purchasing from you. Thanks for the heads-up. You just made my day a little brighter.

Do you have any links to this new plant? I cannot find a single thing.

Well, the article(s) appearing in various media sound impressive and I am hopeful this new venture provides relief in a stressed market place. However I am cautiously optimistic and will reserve judgment. Having read the several articles, which all appear to be the same and undoubtedly are based on a press release from the company, having read the forum posts linked above and having looked at the company's web page, their Our Team page...I think this is very ambitious project for them to say the least. I'll let it go at that!

Best of luck to them and I hope to see their products in due time.

If you look at the satellite imagery of the Red River Army Depot where the Lone Star Ammunition Plant was, it certainly looks like there's plenty of manufacturing capacity there!

Share you opinion. I am still loading .45acp with their ETR7 powder that I purchased from them when they had a store front business in the Lynchburg VA area. According to information on Cast Boolits, the Ruger Forum and Brian Enos site from 2015-2017 time frame ETR7 was actually repackaged Maxam CSB-1, a Spanish produced shotgun powder. Loading data for ETR7 is available on line and some sources state that TiteGroup data can be used but I cannot verify that recommendation. I have the better part of 4 pounds left. Was using 5.7 grains with a wolf LPP and a 200 gr. cast semi wadcutter, it burns clean and has a soft recoil impulse. Don't have any chronograph data for it.

Production expands to fill a vacuum created by expanded demand. Of course, it can quickly collapse the other direction. That's why large established producers are loathe to build expensive new facilities. Boom or bust economics of a concentrated market. How many cycles have we all witnessed since the Clinton administration?

Yes and no. Large dominating industries with a monopoly like to keep it that way. Our country was built on free open trade and expansion were needed. As we go downhill we are mass this, mass that, Wal-Mart here and nothing over there. Let's let the demand get filled, it's called capitalism. Why the negative push. We have more than enough fear mongering going on in our country the last 2 years especially.

My memory is not so good. How many cycles where primers or powder has been readily available?

With their first priority being primers (That's a good thing). I wonder how many here or out there will stock up with 40-50 cases or more this time. I guess will see the prices and quality in due time.

Negative push, moi? Fear mongering [sic]? Reading comprehension a trifle rusty, there.

If anything I'm saying it's all old hat, so why get our knickers in a twist. Fearmongering - that's rich.
