"Where is the Ammo?"

A while back I got into black powder just 'cause it seemed like a fun thing to do. The revolvers are beautiful and I love the ridiculous calibers of the bigger rifles. But they are dirty to shoot and the cleaning process is intense, so after a period of fun, they all got cleaned, oiled and put away.

But with this ammo hoarding, shortage and the crazy prices, I find myself keenly interested again in BP and supplies are not hard to find.

There was a husband and wife at my local range this weekend shooting black powder. They weren't new to it, but current times rekindled their interest. They looked to be having a ton of fun doing it and she was having much more success on target than her partner.

I agree with you that the cleanup is excrutiating, but its shooting. Caps, ball and powder and you are off to the races. And you can buy and receive the firearms direct in most locales.

"Danny Siegler of Zanders says that the ammunition shipments have slowed to a trickle."

Being one of the largest suppliers it begs the question...Where is the ammo and components going? If Zanders was getting the same amount as normal and selling as soon as it arrives then I can understand. But to be cut by 80-90%.

Was looking at auctions today
No wonder there’s an ammo shortage

Fueling this shortage are lots of new sellers on GB as well, most within the last year, 6 months or so. They all seem to have the same thing for sale. Usually 6-10 boxes or more of the same brand ammunition and caliber.

One newer seller, 11/20 has:
5 boxes core lokt 25-06 100gr $325 or buy it now $375
6 boxes core lokt 30-06 150gr $390 or buy it now $450
4 boxes Win 300 mag 150gr $420 or buy it now $500
