New 6mm gt

I have a Terminus Zeus on order. Got a bbl ready for it. MTU 22". I like the quick switch bbl setup on the Zeus. These are 3 lug push feed, 60° bolt throw.

Also have a couple of American Rifle Company Nucleus' SA both 6.5 PRC. CRF is nice as is the shorter bolt throw (72°?). Also got their Archimedes in LA flavor for a 300 PRC...just got that bbl delivered. 25" M24 profile. Archimedes is CRF too.

Also check out Big Horn. Also CRF but 2 lug instead of 3 like the Nucleus and Archimedes. Bolt heads, i believe are swappable between all of their actions models.

Very interested to hear your thoughts on the Terminus when it arrives. Considering one myself to replace a Kelbly Atlas - just finding the 90 degree bolt throw is getting my fingers very close to my scope and I'm occasionally losing a bit of skin during fast cycling. A 60 degree bolt throw would solve this as the 70 degree bolt throw on a Tikka I have makes a world of difference.

Sorry for the late reply. I have not shot my Terminus Zeus yet. I've got the 22" bbl on but not planning to shoot it. Waiting on a 6.5CM bbl right now, might also buy another for 6mmGT. I'll most likely be running it on the Zeus.

I did play with the action a bit and the for a 60* bolt throw is lighter than expected. For/back movement of the bolt is really smooth. AW magazines fit nicely with my KRG W3 Chassis and the Zeus itself. No binding with the AW mags. Some binding with AICS mags if the rear is being pushed up. It is quite a pricey action. I'd take a look at the ARC Nucleus if you guys wanna save some $. 3-lug, 72*? degree bolt throw. There's a newer 1.1 version.

Have a look at Terminus.

This was one of the main designers behind Curtis actions. He’s left and taken & improved the Curtis action. His turnaround times are very quick. You can hear more on this podcast.

Just had a look at the Terminus actions.

I feel like they borrowed design features from the BAT 3L on their Zeus model, if properly built that should be a great action.

Also, I just received my first 500 pieces of brass for the 6GT, waiting on reamer and my Smith has the rifle, going from 6br up to see how much better 1k shooting can be.

If you are looking for a new action i think you should consider Barnard, they have a 3lug Remington action SMS, and have been around for years.

good luck on you 6gt build, the race is on!

What dies will you use with the GT ?

I ordered the RCBS dies, however they are on back order. What I want is the Forster die and to eliminate this neck bushing stuff. Just a preference.

If you call Forster they are building a list of those interested in the 6gt, my name is on that list and once they make them there is going to be a 6gt die for sale on the forums.

I just put together a 6GT on a Savage action, I’m on a tight budget. I bought my dies, brass and headspace gauge from GA Percision. I’m looking for data using RL-16. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I too had problems with PGT bolt. But it wasn't the bolts fault, it was the fault of the gunsmith that installed it like it needed no gunsmithing to function perfectly. This gun shoot so bad it never made a group. When Greg Tannel set the pin protrusion and bushed the bolt and it had the proper impact depth to set off a magnum primer the gun shoots. I had a shooter on this board tell me "I had a bolt bushed and it didn't shoot any better!." I agree you just can't start fixing things and hope you get the problem. Find out what is wrong before blaming the wrong thing.
