New 6 Dasher

Got this rifle from an ad I posted seeking a 6 Dasher. The rifle is a Bat MB with a Terry Leonard stock. Scope is the new NF 15-55 with the FCR 1 reticle. The barrel had 1200 rounds on it so I pulled it and had a friend chamber me up a new Krieger. I think it might be a shooter just have to see how it shoots at 500-600 yards testing this weekend.

Here's the rifle...

The rifle is at the upper limit on weight but I think I'll be safe with what range scales are being used at the matches....

Fire formed some new brass today and shot a couple test loads using the Berger Hybrids at 100 yards.

The group in top right of center of target has 18 shots in it all fire forming.

Top left groups are actual tests after I fire formed a few pieces of brass.

I'll be up early tomorrow testing seating depths at 500 yards and then I'll tweak the loads if I need to be.
I'm gonna test the seating depths at .005, .010, .015 and .020 off the lands with those hybrids. Any suggestions from you guys who shoot them where they on avg like to shoot would be appreciated.

Beautiful looking rifle!

I am currently shooting Hybrids in 3 dashers and all are .005 -.010 jump. I am shooting lot #'s 4561 and 4804. I don't make much of groups at 100 yards, usually some of my custom varmint rifles shoot smaller. I look for very low ES and SD number's and that will usually show itself well on paper at 600 and 1000. There is a node between ~ 3010 to 3040 fps. All 3 of mine are right at 3030 fps.

James,

That is a very nice-looking rifle. Are you going to be using it for either Benchrest or F-class?

I have 3 no-neck turn dashers, and they all like the 105 hybrids jumped anywhere from 0.010 to 0.030.
I'm using Varget 32.6 grains with good results.

Very nice rig!

I'm shooting Hybrids with 33.2 of R-15. .136 ish FB around .003" in.

Interesting, not much difference between a BRX and Dasher load.

My BRX love 107 smk's.

Has anyone tried 107 smk's?

Yep...I shoot them out of a 13.5 LB Panda Dasher that I use at 100, 300 and 500 yard hog match. They shoot.

I shot my Dasher Tuesday with 107smk's fireforming loads.

31.0 grains of Varget, .025 in the lands were dayum near producing perfect scores @ 600 yards

I don't know what way to go now with the 107's showing promising results.

I shot a 10 round string. It was very windy. I only went outside the 10 ring twice . . . 98/100 score. And the 2 that went out were low which tells me a west wind came out of nowhere.

I have heard of Dashers and BRX's liking the 107's in the lands.

I plan on Chrono'n the loads this weekend.
