Need an idea

for all of you that are able to think outside the box so to speak, I have a project for you. I'm looking for some type of rod, tube etc. to move the thumb wheel on my Duplin bipod. I can't reach the thumbwheel without breaking my position behind the rifle. The stems of the wheel measure just shy of .360" and it needs to be about 8" long. I suppose I could jest get a piece of tubing of the proper diameter but I'm looking for something "cool" without tying a bunch of $$$ in it.
All thoughts, suggestions, ideas are appreciated.

What you need is a steering kit made for the Duplin as described here (scroll down a bit):

PBike257 made these for the Phoenix bipod. Essentially a 90 degree gear drive so by rotating the handle you could control the elevation.

I shoot with TR guys who use these and love them. They have them at ACE in various diameters so you can find a nice tight fit and they’re cheap. I know this is basically what you said you thought of already but this is probably one of those solutions where simple is better.

Yep that was my plan for a short shooter, now I miss my spare Duplin.
Steering arm is a great idea. Weight factor adds 1 lb between the 2 bi bods
