Neck tension - K&M Force Pack

It doesn't change from firing.
That's exactly my though since the pressure is uniform on whole interior surface of the case, so nothing to cause movement from one place to another.

It changes with enough FL sizing to roll brass up into necks.
This, accompanied with changes in trim length.
For those of us who minimally size, our necks do not change in thickness once fully fire formed.
Hmmm??? That might be the reason my Federal .308 cases done well so far with 10 firings . . . only size the neck and bump the shoulder since the second firing. Federal brass being as soft as it is, you'd think this phenomenon would be at work in their necks . . . especially since my loads are around 58,000 to 60,000 psi. As for my 6X fired Lapua brass that I FL size, the body size is reduced by .002 at the shoulder junction, web area is reduced by .001 and my shoulder bump is no more than .0015"; that not really being minimal, I do think???

Original question - so which is the bigger factor in these PSI numbers, the neck tension or the lube and how you apply it?

A- the lube was the biggest factor, I leave the carbon in the necks lightly brushed as lube for seating bullets with plenty of bullet hold.
If you leave the carbon in the necks, how do you clean your brass? I don’t care about shiny brass, but more specifically, the primer pockets.

I spin them and use steel wool. I clean the outside of the neck before annealing then after annealing and sitting overnight I clean the entire case the same way.

I wipe down the outside with a shop towel, brush the necks out then use a 21st century pocket uniformer set to just lightly clean carbon from the bottom of the primer pocket.
