A little about me!
I am in the process of building my very own Reloading/gun Room. I'm 39 yrs old and I have been exposed and involved in reloading/shooting most of my life, but that was just as a bystander of sorts. My father is 77 yrs young and started reloading when he was in his late 30's. Growing up I have been a helper of sorts for many given task in the reloading room. Now being younger back then, I never took the reins so to speak, was always comfortable just listening to all his reloading talk. Which at the time wasn't a top priority, but other than deer hunting, this is where me and Dad connected. Over the years I become more and more interested in what he was trying to teach me and regret I have taken so long to dive in myself. There is never a visit or even a phone call I have made over the years since I left home almost 20yrs ago that we don't get knee deep talking about reloading, group sizes, guns and deer hunting. And it's not like I live far away, so I am there atleast once a week usually more.
Things for me started changing a few years ago when I started toying with the idea of shooting local benchrest. I become increasingly interested in having my own place like my dad. Now, dads set-up is awesome so I have been spoiled so to speak in terms of what I dream of doing at my place. My dads reloading room is inside his house and he has an adjoining room that has his shooting bench. He has almost a 300 yd range for shooting. It's taken me a few years but I am finally getting my ducks in a row.
My reloading room is located in a seperate building from my house, I have enclosed the double carport that was here and made it into my Mega Man Cave so to speak. This building consist of 3 rooms, I have a kitchen approx. 8 x22 that has a stove, microwave and refrigerator and plenty of closet space, another room is 11x16 and this is going to be my shop, and my reloading /gun room is also 11x16.
As I mentioned about things changing for me when I became more interested in shooting local benchrest, that was a few years ago and that was when I discovered this 6mmBR web site now Accurate Shooter. I'm addicted, I am here every day all through the day! Thanks to you guys, things started to click for me. I have managed to befriend a few other local guys that are heavy into local benchrest shooting, and I am well on my way to being able to compete in the up-coming season. I have several gun projects underway, and I hope to have them up and running soon. I need to complete my gun room so I can work on loads for each of them here at my house instead of having to go to my dads.
Well, I just wanted to kind of tell my story and let you guys know that I enjoy all of your post and that I really spend way more time reading than posting on the forum. However I plan to post more now and get even more evolved in the forum. Just don't want to seem like a stranger! Thanks or reading my story, and I hope to add more soon.
Sincerely,
Brandon
