I got some organizing to do here... need to get thevinline dillon organizing stuff for the wall.. get it all up outta the way..

And as you can see... im already needing more space... but it is what its is...

Space, space, cabinets, cabinets, work tops, and more cabinets is the moral to the story

Ooooh, my Wifey would love that look. She is form before function. You have both.
I'm in a large Morton bldg, still getting unpacked but do have the base and wall cabinets and tops primed and painted. These came out of a lab where I worked 14 yrs ago. I just KNEW I would need them one day ;-)) . I have also picked up two single drwr stack oak desks from second hand stores - not the sawdust wood but older, solid blond oak. Yes, it does indeed look like "Early Attic" but sooo little $ spent. All in all, 5 wall cabinets, one being dbl door, six single stack base cabinets under two solid core doors plus my 4' x 6.5' reloading bench I built in '72. Pack Rats Anonymous said I'd give them a bad name...

When I built my "man room" in a lower level office last year, my wife didn't want it to not look like a work bench. She had that in the old house and really didn't like it in the house. I ended up with dark cabinets (no uppers), with a 2" thick oak butcher block top with a clear finish. In order to be able to pull the presses on and off and store them out of sight in the cabinets, I used brass inserts into the butcher block and the presses are fixed to slabs of more butcher block that can be fixed to the top with star handle bolts. Works perfectly and the wife is happy. When the tools and presses are stored underneath, it looks like something you would see in a living room. The cabinets are not attached to the wall so it can go with me to Florida when I retire in a few years.

I learned that if the guns are in safes, they don't get shot as much. If they are on a rack in a cement room with vault door, they get shot. Something about the male psyche that wants to play with things he sees...
My next room will be lined with racks for my guns. Besides, the way my memory is going, if I don;t put them out, I will forget I have them!

I like the different areas work specific. Everything is bolted down and you don't have to get something out and put something away.

I agree with that.

Just moved from a 12'x8' shop and reloading bench to a 12'x24' shop with room for separate reloading, gun cleaning and work benches. 9' ceiling makes it feel even larger. I never realized how cramped the old shop was until now. The big press on the right is bolted down. The others will be mounted on boards and clamped to the bench when in use. Also finally have room for a dedicated fly tying table. Newly retired and loving it, James
