Most Accurate 7mm Bullet

I'm not sure. Sierra says to use a 8 twist, so I got a Krieger 5R 1x8 Light Varmint and 27 inch long barrel, in a single shot Rem 40X, with a laminated stock, bedded by Master Class Stocks.
Most times Sierra errors on the safe side. As an example the Sierra 240 calls for a 9 twist. We have shoot many good groups and records at 1000 yards with a 10 twist. The holes in the paper are small and round telling me it is stabilized. Ask Joe Salt if it works. Matt

I have two main areas of interest, long range BR, and bullets for my 7-08.

Most of the post here have addressed both.

My main BR gun is a 6 Dasher. I have had challenges getting my .284 Shehane close to the accuracy I get with my dasher.

The 7-08 is more for shooting steel and hunting.

Thanks to all!

Terry

How does the group by the tape differ from the others on this page?
Same load? Same jump? What changed?
Terry I must have been in a rush the day I shot this group..I normally write all the load info next to every group. I suspect I was trying to get the HYBs to shoot as good as my VLD load. I was happy to see the results and only wrote that info down. Probably seating change and looking for the best seating dimension. Ps my Shehanes will shoot as good as my Dasher.

7x47 Lapua. Tikka T-3 with Broughton custom barrel. Factory trigger with varmint weight spring installed. In a drop in Manners. Not bedded. 3x9 scope. Off a bipod and varmint bench.

It’s good with a lot of bullets. It’s not picky at all. To some of those mentioned, I wanted to add the Sierra 160 Tipped Match King. I don’t buy the polymer tipped stuff. The bullet just seems to do well. Lapua brass, obviously. Federal 205M primer. 39.0 grains of IMR 8208 XBR. Bullet seated to just touch the lands.

I switched over to Berger 168 hunting VLDs in my short action 7SAUM this year. Great accuracy!
3070 fps with 4831sc. Got 6 0ut of 10 rounds on a Unicorn at 1920 yards. 3rd round hit at 2100 yards on 36x36. This was at 7000ft elevation though.
