Moly Coating using the Wet method

What is the time span if you shoot moly for cleaning the stuff out of your barrel?
Like a coyote rifle from warm truck to cold weather and back, might not call anything in for couple days around here. Depending on how they act, and when a person go out or able to, could be once every 2 weeks or so. Will that hurt the barrel any?

Some will undoubtedly say that it does hurt the barrel. I haven't seen this in my barrels tho. I go 200-400 rounds before cleaning. When the groups open up then i clean. Got 2800 rounds out of a 6.5x47l shooting 140's at 2730fps. That barrel was still shooting well enough for me when i took it off.

No

how could I not be convinced it was the moly when the rifle went back to normal after the moly was removed? even the guy that put the barrel on knew the moly was causing shotgun groups from his experience. in my case it seemed like the moly filled in the grooves in the rifling ruining accuracy.

The rifle went to normal when you tried another batch of bullets is my guess.

yes a batch of UN-coated bullets. is it possible that cut rifling button formed or hammer forged barrels might have different results with moly bullets

In my 25 years of shooting moly my barrels don't care if the bullet is moly or not. I go back and forth sometimes with my service rifles. Many of my barrels are cut and some are button. The moly is not going to make or break a barrel.

My standard cleaning routine cleans all the moly from the barrel.

See any moly?

This barrel was broken in with moly bullets...

Seemed to do OK.

I am glad you had success . are you supposed to clean the moly out of the barrel? if you do how many shots would it take to settle down with moly bullets in a clean barrel?

Seemed to do OK.
