MO F-Class State Championship July 9-10, 2016

I would like to say something about Bucksnort that hasn't been mentioned. The range it's self. Don't let anybody kid you, this isn't a trigger pulling contest. I lost 9 points the second match Sunday before you could say 10 on. It was one of those - stop- sit up- look around- catch your breath - think about packing up and going home moments. It's a beautiful range, so well taken care of I'd call it manicured. They mowed the firing line after we shot Saturday! It, the line, sure looked good Sunday morning and seemed like the very appropriate place for Pat Rodgers to remind of some very good words of wisdom. Thanks Pat.

The town of Marshall is a very clean, has a bunch of really nice folks, and is easy to get around in. I ate at The Brick BBQ one night, it was very good, and as Greg Barkley so eloquently stated, "Some Mom and Pop place across from Walmart. I wasn't until a little later that Skip told me to never let Greg navigate. We finally found the place and there were several Shooters present soaking up the AC. After a great meal, Skip suggested we should visit the "Jim the Wonder Dog" garden downtown. I didn't know he was such Museum hound. If you don't know about Jim, it's worth the trip.

Ryan, please sign me up for next year.
Thanks, Dean. I still owe you for that bag of ice.

Ryan,

Thanks for putting on another great match. Being one of the only two "sling" shooters there all of your competitors made us feel at home with all of the great fish, frogs and especially the ice cream; after laying out there all day with a shooting coat and cooking the ice cream really helped. I hope that you allow us to shoot this again next year and maybe with a little luck I might be able to earn my Expert Classification.

Mike

Thanks Ryan for another great shoot! Great friends and fellowship! This is my second year to shoot at Bucksnort and its professionally ran! A special thanks to Sierra Bullets, 21st Century and all the other vendors who contributed to this match. The food was wonderful and I'm looking forward to next year already. Thank you to all my friends for your support. Congratulations to James Laney and Greg Taylor! James you stayed on top of the game brother! I'm proud of our Arkansas crew especially Tracy! She shot well!
Kevin Shepherd
P.S. Joe Myer what's one point between friends? Lol
"Go Hogs"!
Kevin, congratulations on shooting the record!
But that "one point" is starting to strain our friendship. Lol

Thanks to Ryan and crew for putting on the match. Also to Ryan, Mike, and Travis for cooking up the food in the extreme heat! I was wore out after shooting, I don't know how you guys did it. Travis, The home-made ice cream hit the spot once again! The sides from Arkansas were excellent as well.
The level of competition at this match is fierce, and growing. one missed call or flier can take you out of it.

Also, thanks to the sponsors:
Sierra
Nightforce
Vortex
21st century
Midway
Grafs
And others
All these things together with great people, make a match great.

The core of Highpower in this state are all from this club. They are the MSSA and do the most for everyone involved at this range. They are mentoring us and seeing the job done both. Special thanks to Greg Meredith , Chris Strannigan , Scott Young, Jeff Limblom and I think a few more guys. These people make it their duty! Perfect example !

The 2016 Missouri F-Class State Championship is in the record books.... We had excellent turnout, amazing scores overall, and a new National Record! I am blown away every time at how great the people are are these matches.

I would like to thank my wife Michelle, Mike Jakubczak, Joe Meyer and Travis Greer for their help with the food, Greg Meredith, and Cristafer Strannigan for making the match run smoothly, and Scott Young for making the range look beautiful as always. We had a fantastic group of shooters in attendance, and that makes it a pleasure to socialize after the shooting is finished.

There was an excellent prize table thanks to generous donations from 21st Century Shooting, Alextek, Bartlein, Caldwell, Frankford Arsenal, Graf and Sons, Hodgdon, MidwayUSA, Nightforce, Sierra, Smith & Wesson, and Vortex Optics. These companies support our sport. Please consider them next time you are shopping.

Special thanks to Sierra for the coolers of cold drinks. They were very much appreciated, as it was a scorcher.

I hope to see you all again at Bucksnort next year.
