MO F-Class State Championship July 9-10, 2016

Awesome Ryan!! We need more tables for this food spread!

Things we may need:

Tables for sure. Table space is a problem
Any sides are welcome for variety
Ketchup and plates and stuff
More ketchup

Things you'll be glad you brought:

Pop ups
Lawn chairs
Spotting scope for your spouses
Plenty of trail feed and drinks
Extra socks and shoes for dry feet
Sun protection
Bug spray
Ammo

Safe travels everybody

Shooters, be aware that when following "U" road in, that it may be flooded just before it "tees" into the road that brings you into the range. Use the alternate route that many follow using Google maps. It's not easy to turn around at this flooded location. Those with trailers, don't even try this route until you call ahead to someone at the range for a road report!!
Steve
Steve how does the road look now

I can bring an 8ft table if we need it to set food on or for people to eat at.

They only have one pick a nik table so that's cool , we need around 6-8 to funtion properly. Should be the best feed u have ever been to. How often do you go to a all you can eat feed right off the fryer? Lol can't wait to get there!

I will bring a table!

Mapquest shows cutting across 147th Trl from UU to Lemon Trl, instead of following UU all the way to Lemon Trl. Can anyone confirm that this route is passable???

I would take uu(paved) all the way to lemon trl, and turn left toward the range.

UU is the paved road from Hwy 65 to Lemon Trl. (google maps shows it as U, but it's UU).
It has been under water for the past 3 days. I should have a report on its condition in the next hour or so.

147 Trl is passable (no water on the road) but as of yesterday afternoon was VERY rough with one big washout that would likely rule out big campers. The steepness of the hill on that road is such that getting down it is not just possible, but mandatory in most any vehicle. Getting back up it might be a challenge if you are in a car with low ground clearance. Regardless, it was a crawl speed road as of yesterday afternoon when I went through with a small camper trailer. I did see a road grader in the area so hopefully he went to work on it.

Hoping to have a report on it in the next hour or so as well.

Anyone headed out early today should probably take 147 and go slow. If that scares you, better wait for a report on UU.

Here is the current scoop on access to the range................ (0910 hrs, July 8)

The gravel road in (147 Trl) got some much needed love yesterday and is in decent shape. It is not a high speed road but there's only a mile or so of it and there's no water. No excuse to not get out there and shoot!

UU is till under water, but a 4wd truck did make it through a few minutes ago. I do not recommend it just yet. I only mention it as it means the water is still dropping and the roadway itself is intact. It should be open later today, I will continue to post updates.

We have people at the range and it's available to practice or just hang out all day. Take UU from 65 as usual, but turn onto 147 Trl (the second gravel road). It hits Lemon Trl, turn left and you'll be at the range and happy.

Thanks for the update Scott

Does anyone know if 147Trl is the road that Google maps shows as 220, which runs from UU to Lemon Tr, north of where UU intersects Lemon Tr?
thanks
Alex

Can anyone tell me if John Perkins from 21st is shooting this weekend. I busted my hydro seater last night. Was going to bring it with me if he's going to be there.

Yes, Google maps shows 147 to be 220. I believe Saline County changed some road numbers a couple of years ago and Google maps hasn't caught up. "U" on Google maps is "UU" in real life.

There is a nursery on 147 called "Granddaddy's Garden", follow the signs for the nursery, and continue till you come to a T in the road. Turn left and you'll run right into the range gate in less than a mile.

In Missouri Department of Transportation speak, single letter roads are paved roads that connect to other paved roads on both ends. Double letter roads either dead end or connect to gravel roads. This is almost always true but there are exceptions.

This is all much easier than it is sounding here.

Should anyone be curious; I am one of the officers at Bucksnort Shooting Club but sadly will not be able to be at the match this weekend.

I will mostly be available if anyone has questions or trouble finding the place.

Is it safe for me to post my phone number here? Everyone seems to be squeamish about doing that.

Thank you, Scott -
Here is a map of what I believe to be correct. The 'Blue' road (220) is 147 Tr. (In case it may be of help)

UU is currently 17" deep over the road. It has dropped 10" in the past 4.5 hours.

147 is clear, and we have several small cars that have taken that detour.

We have a pretty good crowd here already. The fish fry will start at 5.
