Mauser 96 Overpressure

During 95-96, Kimber converted surplus 96's into 308, 22-250, 243, and the like and you can still find them at gunshows , gunbroker, etc.
Even Husqvarna converted some to 270 and 30-06 in Sweden and sold them there.

I have a Husqvarna 96 in 6.5x55SE/SKAN and it doesn't get treated lightly when I load for it.

Would I try that with a 93/94/95 Mauser? Probably not
 
I have a lovely 96 Mauser sporter, but I think that fellow in Alaska put to bed the myth that the Spanish, Chilean and other earlier Mausers were weaker in any way.
